Drew University of Medicine and Science and 5 years of experience in mental and behavioral health. He has worked in Magnet hospitals in both inpatient and emergency room settings and is experienced in treating patients of all ages, cultures, and genders. His acute care experience has exposed him to many mental health disorders, including depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Gatdula is committed to fighting the stigma of mental illness. He is a compassionate practitioner and an ardent advocate for his patients. He practices patient-centered and trauma-informed care and provides personalized care in a respectful and dignified way. Dr. J Paul Gatdula was friendly, however it did not feel like he was taking what I was saying seriously at the start. When I brought up what mental disorders I would like to get diagnosed for, he said. "Wow, that's a lot" and it felt as if he was making fun of my situation. I didn't feel very comfortable with him. He also sat unprofessionally and couldn't stay still, and got up multiple times because he said his office was hot. However, near the end when he was giving me my potential diagnosis, he was kind, careful, and explained to me in a gentle manner. I would prefer not to work with him again in the future, but I appreciate his time with me.

I felt at ease in the office. The staff was friendly and professional, and the whole experience was smooth and peaceful. I felt like I was important and cared for in my one hour one on one session. Everyone listened to my concerns, was grounded, patient, and gave appropriate input regarding my needs. I would definitely recommend J. Paul Gatdula for treatment.
