Getting to know Dr. Jack Herskovits

I will send over a Zoom meeting link the morning of the scheduled appointment. Please note that I am currently NOT accepting BCBS patients. I am a psychologist with a diverse practice, working with individuals, couples, adolescents, and families, as well as conducting a variety of psychotherapy groups. My style is informal, supportive, and interactive. I have extensive experience addressing addictive and compulsive behavior problems, relationship issues, identity concerns, and many other clinical areas. My primary goal is to establish a mutually comfortable rapport, creating an atmosphere of openness that makes self-exploration both satisfying and immediately helpful in the short and long term. I earned my PsyD from Yeshiva University. Having served as the Clinical Director of several training clinics, I bring a high level of knowledge and experience to my work with clients. As an interpersonal psychoanalyst, I use the patterns of a person's interpersonal relationships to guide my exploration of their desire for self-knowledge and personal growth. I actively and supportively engage in an exploratory dialogue about the client’s experiences, focusing on helping clients define themselves and gain new understanding of their experiences. When clinically indicated, I recommend and offer combined modalities of individual and group therapy.
