“If you are considering Dr. Ngalame, you need to take a second and just make the decision to give her a shot. She is no nonsense, but listens to what you have to say, and has very candid feedback that sticks with you. There are no instances where I have felt any judgment, or like there was any effort to challenge me in a way that confused, concerned, or upset me - when I get into the hard stuff, the tricky things, I am met with a caring attitude and am given really well thought out examples of real life scenarios which allow me to rationalize that, hey, I am not alone, and I am on the right path. Whether you are someone with years of experience in therapy, or someone that is looking to begin their journey to better themselves and their mental health, Dr. Ngalame is worth your time. Worth noting, she is not the kind of Dr. to push medications down your throat or try to convince you that you NEED medication, she was very open to holistic and non medicated approaches to treatment. ”

Getting to know Dr. Jackline Ngalame

Hi, I am Dr. Jackline Ngalame (Dr. Bess), a nurse practitioner. I am board certified in psychiatry and family practice. I offer remote services to clients of all ages beginning at age 5. I enjoy working with children, teens, and adult patients. I enjoy helping clients attain a stable mental state by empowering them through motivational interviewing, supportive counseling and CBT approaches. I graduated with a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree , a Master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner, and a Post-Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric and Mental Health nurse practitioner. My treatment approach is holistic in nature, individualized, and rooted in evidence-based practice. When medications are indicated, I educate clients on the available options based on each client’s unique symptom presentation and their goals for treatment. This informs and empowers clients to make an informed decision about this important aspect of their care. I bring a conservative approach to prescribing. When medications are indicated, I start with the lowest possible dosages, often from first line agents that are approved by the FDA, except in circumstances where these are contraindicated for one reason or another. I monitor you regularly. In conjunction with medication, I employ evidence-based psychotherapy approaches in treatment. The intention is to help clients using a comprehensive and holistic approach to treatment. I encourage clients to make lifestyle modifications to improve their overall physical and mental well-being . When I am not working, you can find me spending time at home with my family, cooking, baking, watching shows on Netflix, and traveling. I am an avid sports fan. I enjoy most sports, with particular interest in Tennis, Basketball and Football. It is never too late to seek help. I look forward to welcoming you to my private practice. I am deeply honored to work with you on this your journey towards Mental Wellness!

What should a new client know about working with you?

We work as a team (You & I). I want you to know that my job is to listen to you and to work to find solutions that ultimately improve your mental state. Uploading your insurance during the booking process allows for timely benefits verification and makes your access to care seamless. Please upload your ID, front back and or enter your address during the booking phase, as this is a requirement for benefits verification with your insurance company. Thank you! Please do not reserve an appointment with me without uploading insurance cards front & Back.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I want to thank you for considering me as your future provider. I kindly ask that when you reserve an appointment, make sure your insurance is one that I accept. You will be responsible for the cost of the visit if I am out of network with your insurance. Communication is very important. I recommend you check your text/emails/answer phone after reserving an appointment with me. An email will be sent with a link for you to complete intake and onboarding to my practice. Typically, during our initial meeting, I inquire about your reason for seeking care, past history, treatment trials and response to past treatments, current symptoms and goals for treatment. I also provide evidence based recommendations for medications when indicated. I offer clients the option to take time in deciding what treatment part to follow-as no one size fits all. This may sometime mean scheduling a second or third meeting before prescribing medications. I prescribe medications during initial visits for those clients who are ready and willing to pursue this route. Every client is unique, so what happens during the initial and subsequent sessions is solely dependent on client symptoms, goals for treatment and their readiness for treatment. I also provide supportive counseling during meetings.

I’m so thankful I found Dr. Ngalame. After spending over 8 hours on Zocdoc searching for same day help for an urgent matter, over 10 providers canceled but not her. She kept her word, listened with compassion, and went above and beyond to support me. I was feeling hopeless and unsure of my future, but thanks to her, I smiled today. She gave me the strength to get up, take action, and believe things could get better. Dr. Ngalame restored my faith in people when I needed it most. If you’re unsure about booking with her—please do. She’s truly exceptional, and I’m grateful to have found her
