Getting to know Jaclyn Bellassai

Hi! My name is Dr. Jaclyn Bellassai, and I am a nurse practitioner specializing in psychiatry and certified in family health. I have a genuine love for people, and I consider myself a sensitive and compassionate person. I find working in my field a privilege, and I am in awe every day of how people choose to confide in me and trust in me to help them. I never take this for granted. I always try to see my patients through their eyes and always take their history, their culture, and their belief systems into consideration when trying to formulate a treatment plan. I try to get to know them and truly understand them so I can best help them. I am a well-rounded clinician. I have cared for acutely ill patients and those with less severe chronic mental illnesses affecting various ages and populations. My experience in the acute setting has prepared me to deal with very sick and complex cases ranging from schizoaffective disorder to significant depression. I am currently working in a mental health hospital, and I have to treat a wide range of mental health illnesses; part of my duties include attending and testifying in Baker Act court, working with interdisciplinary teams to formulate treatment, and preparing a discharge plan. I am also working part-time in substance abuse and learning more about detox and how to care for those who have an addiction. I have experience working in skilled nursing facilities, providing psychiatric care to some of the most vulnerable, specifically the older population. Regarding my education, I have attended recognized state schools rated high for their nursing curriculum. I attended Florida State University (FSU) for psychiatry and obtained another certification from FSU specializing in Veterans Mental Health. I have achieved a Doctorate in nursing practice and a Master's Degree from the University of South Florida (USF), where I specialized in family health.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Dr. Bellassai is my favorite doctor. She is talented and kind.
She is my favorite, she is very sweet and caring, and I appreciate her so much!
She is absolutely the best provider I have had. Love her.
Dr.Jaclyn Bellassai was extremely professional and helpful in all aspects of my appointment. She is very knowledgeable and caring. I felt super comfortable throughout the meeting and cannot wait to continue to work with her!
Dr. Jaclyn Bellassai, DNP is always there to listen and give me solutions when I need them. She is great at empowering me. I feel that she understands what I'm going through and is empathetic and warm.
I wish Grow Therapy granted patients the ability to select more than two Therapy styles. Dr. Jaclyn Bellasai encompasses a therapy style beyond the "Warm" and "Open-Minded" options I selected. She responds to my needs with directness, kindness, and thoughtfulness. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking mental health assistance as she will become a strong asset and supporter through anyone's journey to mental health recovery.
I feel as though we could be good friends in another situation. She is funny, supportive, candid and really caring and puts you at ease.
I’m so glad that I have found Dr. Bellassai, she has truly been helping me manage my mental health and come up with solutions for what will work best for me. Medicine that’s tailored towards me and my personal issues. What’s best for my body as a whole. She is very smart and I feel comfortable having her manage my medication. She is warm, friendly, authentic, and solution oriented, as well as open minded. She really tries to get to the root of things. I have seen quite a few doctors and I’m very happy finally that I found one who understands me and what my body/brain/mental health needs. I don’t have anyone in my life to recommend her to, but I would definitely urge others who are in similar situations as me to book an appointment with her and give things a try. She has also helped me to become patient with my mental health’s progress as I used to be very impatient and frustrated.
The health care providers that I have established a healthy, professional relationship with are fantastic. Maybe instead of running surveys on the health care providers, Grow Therapy sends surveys to patients and providers about the Grow Therapy website, which sucks BTW.
This doctor is excellent. She has a very good bedside manner and is extremely knowledgeable about medications and other related things. I wish I found her sooner !
