About Jaclyn Wehrle

Jaclyn completed her Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Dietetic Internship at The University of Southern Mississippi. She is passionate about helping a wide range of people achieve their goals through nutrition counseling. She has the most experience in weight management, bariatrics, mindful eating, general health, and some gastrointestinal issues. Motivational interviewing and setting SMART goals are backed by science and are used by Jaclyn and patients to achieve their long-term goals. Although Jaclyn has experience in weight management, she supports a weight-neutral approach that allows the patient to develop a healthier relationship with food and celebrate "non-scale victories", which can create more sustainable change. Jaclyn will take a collaborative approach with the patients to help them feel involved in their care. She will help find the root cause of any issues so that these can be tackled effectively. The goal is to build a supportive environment where the patient feels as comfortable as possible so that we can create lasting change.

Jaclyn is attentive, caring and understanding. I was considering halting our sessions because of some stressful personal issues in my life came up this past week and I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to put in the necessary attention into our sessions and my associated goals. She was supportive of any decision I made and completely understood if I wasn't in the right mindset to have these sessions right now. Her willingness to be so understanding and honest with me and her ability to empathize and provide positive energy helped educate me decide to continue my sessions. I realized that even if I'm not doing my best with my goals every week or even if my mental health is down that speaking with her actually helps me just feel a little better. She helps me refocus and remember the positive changes that I want to see.
