Getting to know Jacqueline Pettit

With over a decade of experience as an Oncology and Emergency Nurse, I witnessed firsthand how deeply our physical, emotional, and social lives are intertwined. This understanding led me to expand my practice, pursuing a degree as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and becoming a Board-Certified Nurse Coach along the way. Combining my background in nursing with coaching has given me a deeper appreciation of how every aspect of our lives shapes our mental and emotional well-being—ultimately driving true and lasting change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

New clients should know that I take a thoughtful, evidence-based approach to mental health care. I prioritize understanding the whole picture—symptoms, history, lifestyle, and goals—before making treatment decisions. I offer both medication management and therapy, and I work collaboratively with patients to develop sustainable treatment plans. PLEASE NOTE: I do not use daily or long-term benzodiazepines as a primary treatment approach.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I start with a thorough evaluation to understand the full picture of what’s bringing you in, including your symptoms, past treatment experiences, and current life stressors. Together, we develop a personalized plan that may include therapy, medication, or a combination of both. I focus on evidence-based care and ongoing follow-up to support sustainable improvement and meaningful change over time.

I had a truly exceptional experience with my recent visit with Jacqueline. From the moment we began, it was clear that she was not only highly skilled but also a genuinely caring professional. She is a great listener, giving me the time and space to express myself fully without any rush. I appreciated how non-judgmental she was in approaching everything with curiosity and respect for my perspective. Her thoughtful questions demonstrated interest in understanding me as a person, rather than a textbook approach. I felt validated and cared for throughout my entire visit. I highly recommend her for anyone seeking mental health support.

Jacqueline is one of the most personable providers I have seen, which often is hard in the psychiatric world. I was able to bring up my concerns and hopes for what I wanted my treatment to look like and she has been there every step of the way. I feel that I’m able to advocate for myself and that I’m in control of how I’m moving forward, and am able to do so with the upmost support. She has made these transitions for myself so much more comfortable for me. The most amazing person! Thank you Jacqueline!!
