“We absolutely LOVE Dr. Thompson (Nurse Jackie). She is kind, considerate, authentic, compassionate, and understanding! One of our favorite things about her is how she takes the time to answer questions and explain things in a way we understand. We actually followed her from Grow Therapy to her own private practice...why??? Because she is absolutely incredible! We are very thankful to Dr. Thompson for all of her support, encouragement, and guidance. ”

What should a new client know about working with you?

1. Personalized, Evidence-Based Care I prioritize individualized treatment plans that are evidence-based and tailored to your unique needs. I take the time to understand your history, concerns, and goals before recommending treatment options. 2. Medication Management Focus I specialize in both medication management and therapy. While I provide guidance on mental health strategies, my primary role is to assess, prescribe, and adjust medications to help optimize your mental well-being. 3. A Collaborative Approach Your input is crucial to your treatment. I encourage open communication about how you're feeling, any side effects, and what works (or doesn’t) for you. This helps us make informed decisions together. 4. Virtual-First Practice Most of my appointments are conducted virtually, offering convenience and flexibility. I do have office locations in Raleigh and Greensboro, along with in-person visits. 5. Transparent and Supportive Care I value honesty and transparency. If a particular medication or approach isn’t right for you, I will explore alternatives and discuss the best path forward. My goal is to ensure you feel heard, supported, and empowered in your mental health journey. 6. Consistency and Follow-Up Mental health treatment is an ongoing process. Regular follow-ups allow us to track your progress, make adjustments as needed, and ensure you’re getting the best possible outcome. If you have any questions or concerns, I’m here to help. My goal is to make your experience as smooth and effective as possible while supporting you every step of the way.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My Typical Process for Working with Clients I follow a structured yet personalized approach to ensure each client receives comprehensive and effective mental health care. Here’s what to expect: 1. Initial Consultation (First Appointment) • The first session is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation (typically 45–60 minutes). • We discuss your mental health history, current concerns, symptoms, medical background, and treatment goals. • If applicable, we will review any past medications, what has worked (or not), and any side effects you’ve experienced. • If medication is appropriate, I provide education on treatment options and develop a personalized plan. 2. Medication Management & Treatment Plan • If medication is prescribed, we start at the lowest effective dose and adjust as needed. • I educate clients on potential side effects, expected benefits, and how to monitor progress. • If therapy, lifestyle changes, or additional resources are beneficial, I will discuss those options as well. 3. Follow-Up Appointments • First follow-up (2-4 weeks later): o We assess how the medication is working. o Adjustments may be made based on symptoms, side effects, or response to treatment. • Ongoing follow-ups (every 1,2, 4,6,8 weeks or as needed): Based on what medications are being prescribed. o Monitoring progress and making necessary adjustments. o Ensuring medication remains effective and addressing any concerns. o Reviewing overall mental health, lifestyle factors, and coping strategies. 4. Long-Term Management & Stability • My goal is to help clients stabilize and maintain mental well-being over time. • As progress is made, follow-ups may become less frequent, shifting to maintenance mode. • If discontinuing or changing medications, I guide clients through a safe and gradual process. 5. Collaborative & Transparent Care • I encourage open communication—if something isn’t working, we explore alternatives. • I am solution-focused, prioritizing evidence-based treatments

I don't think I would use Zocdoc again for booking anything. The provider didn't show up to the appointment. I was contacted many times by this provider's "office" requesting intake forms and reminding me of my appointment. I also got similar messages from Zocdoc, reminding me as well. I had an appointment at 5:30PM. I showed up at 5:25PM and waited for 30 minutes until 6:00PM and the provider never showed up. I was not contacted via phone or email either. I would not recommend this provider.

The provider didn't show for my first scheduled appointment and even worse, didn't show for the second appointment either. Now I'm out of one of my meds. I highly do not recommend this provider.

I enjoyed how personable Jackie was during our meeting. She allowed me to discuss my concerns, gave me a course of treatment but did not rush me in the process. Highly recommend!
Great listener.
Dr Jackie listened to my concerns and assessed me. She was very clear, empathetic, and kind with her feedback and knowledge. When I ran into a pharmacy issue, she was swift and clear with her instruction. I booked my follow up and I am excited to add Dr. Jackie to my care team.
