Jackie Zgiet is board-certified in mental health and family practice, driven by a passion for mental wellness and a commitment to promoting positive change within the mental health community. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Tennessee Wesleyan University in Knoxville, TN. Jackie then earned her Master of Nursing Science in Family Health Nursing from Lincoln Memorial University, followed by a Master of Nursing Science as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Maryville University in St. Louis, MO. Additionally, she completed a Post-Master's Certificate in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing at Maryville University. With extensive experience in diverse mental health settings-including inpatient psychiatric hospitals, addiction treatment centers, and outpatient clinics-Jackie has consistently delivered high-quality care.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I provide a focus on improving mental health including education, safety, and medication. I have experience treating and managing acute and chronic symptoms. Although my primary role is in medication management, I like to spend time listening to and working with my clients providing counseling, education, and offering coping strategies. I have personal experience with depression and anxiety while also witnessing the struggles of family, friends, and clients. I am compassionate and feel it is important to offer open communication that is easy to understand.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
I like to get to know my patients by building rapport with them and getting a clear understanding of their symptoms, life history, and family history. This allows me to prioritize care, focus on their needs, and develop a plan of care. Treating mental health is a process that requires collaboration between myself and the client.

I recently relocated to Tennessee and was attempting to establish continuity of care for treatments I had been receiving in my home state. Instead, I was informed by Jacqueline that she will not prescribe certain medications and I would need to be taken off of several medications without adequate consideration of my history or circumstances. I felt unheard, rushed and judged. During my appointment we discussed and aid for sleep which never ended up being prescribed.
I then sought temporary care with another physician who was willing to assist me through the holidays with the medications Jacqueline discontinued. I was subsequently accused of doctor shopping, which I find unprofessional and inappropriate.
Due to this experience, I will not be continuing care with Jacqueline or anyone with Mind Body Optimization.

Jackie is a great provider who is the ultimate professional. Dr Zgiet was so professional and was such a great listener. I had my first appt with Dr. Zgiet today and it went so much better than I expected. She made me feel comfortable and like I could talk with her about anything within the first 5 minutes. She was very patient with me even though she had another appt to get to, she very politely told me she had another patient waiting but didn't rush me still. I 1000% recommend her to anyone and will not be seeing anyone else. I have been looking for a doctor I feel this comfortable with for years.y only complaint is that it took so many years for me to have her as a doctor.
