“Dr. Goodman has been fantastic to work with, both as a patient and as a medical professional. I have been familiar with his work since before finishing medical school through social media, so I feel as if I have known him for many years. His easy demeanor puts me at ease, and, as a medical professional myself, I have no qualms about trusting his clinical judgement. I have and will continue to refer my own patients to Dr. Goodman's practice, and I will remain a personal patient for the foreseeable future. ”

Getting to know Dr. Jake Goodman

PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING Rates: • Initial Evaluation (60 min): $700 • Follow-Up (30 min): $350 Goodman Psychiatry is a concierge-style, self-pay virtual mental health practice. I am out-of-network and do not accept insurance. When you book through Zocdoc, your selected time is not your full evaluation. I personally call each prospective patient for a 5–10 minute phone consultation (usually the same day) to ensure we’re a good fit. If we decide to move forward, your comprehensive evaluation is typically scheduled within the same week. About Goodman Psychiatry Welcome to Goodman Psychiatry — a virtual, integrative mental health practice for healthcare professionals, high achievers, and busy adults in California, Florida, and New York. Think physicians, founders, business leaders, and super-parents navigating real life while chasing big goals. As someone who’s lived this life — balancing long hours in medicine, entrepreneurship, and content creation — I understand the pressure of doing it all while trying to stay well. My practice is intentionally small so I can offer next-day availability, direct communication, and truly personalized care. My Approach I’m a board-certified integrative psychiatrist, blending medication management, psychotherapy, and brain health coaching with evidence-based lifestyle strategies for sleep, nutrition, exercise, and stress. My mission is simple: to help the healers, dreamers, and doers heal, grow, and thrive. Virtual Only All sessions are conducted via secure telehealth for adults in California, Florida, and New York.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I take a warm, practical, and personalized approach. I specialize in helping healthcare workers, students, and high achievers navigate stress, burnout, and anxiety — but I work with anyone looking for thoughtful, evidence-based care. We’ll talk openly about what’s going on and build a plan that fits your life, whether that includes therapy, medication, or both.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, I’ll take the time to really get to know you — your goals, challenges, and what’s bringing you in. I’ll ask about your mental health history, lifestyle, and current symptoms so we can get a full picture. From there, I’ll share my impressions and we’ll come up with a personalized plan together. That might include therapy, medication, lifestyle changes, or all of the above — whatever makes the most sense for you.

Dr. Goodman is the finest physician I have ever had. He not only listens attentively but also truly understands the challenges I am facing. His compassion and genuine concern are evident in every interaction. He consistently takes the time to explain and ensure that I feel informed and supported. I am sincerely grateful for the quality of care he provides.
Dr. Goodman is not only an incredibly empathetic, grounded, and highly knowledgeable provider, but he is also exceptionally thorough in patient education. I always feel empowered in my care because he ensures that every decision is collaborative, transparent, and tailored to my lived experience. It genuinely feels like working as a team, which is exactly how medicine should be. I’m able to speak honestly about stressors in my life; Dr. Goodman provides thoughtful, evidence-based recommendations. Beyond medication management, he provides lifestyle and holistic suggestions that make my care feel well-rounded and personalized. Since working with Dr. Goodman, I’ve experienced meaningful change, and I feel more confident, capable, and grounded, which will serve me well as a clinician and human! I would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone who values patient-centered, communicative, and deeply empathetic psychiatric care!
I was wary of ZocDoc, if I'm being honest. I'm really someone who prefers word of mouth recommendations (because I find them more trustworthy), and I have been seriously blown away by Dr. Goodman. As a young woman, I'm often more inclined to work with female practitioners, but Dr. Goodman's disposition and genuine care immediately put me at ease. He is also the most responsive health care professional I have ever worked with -- if a question comes up between sessions, I send him a message and he responds within a day. I would recommend him to any friend, any family member. He's thorough, conscientious and kind. What more could you want?
I'm so grateful to Dr. Goodman's patient! I've had less-than-stellar experiences with psychiatrists in the past, so I was apprehensive to resume my journey to improving my mental health. From my initial consultation, I could tell that Dr. Goodman truly cares about his patients; he actively listens to you, provides great pearls of advice, and takes a comprehensive approach to helping improve the mental wellbeing of his patients. He's very responsive, always on time, and runs a very organized practice. I always look forward to my visits with him!
Dr. Goodman was an excellent doctor, he made me feel good . I’ve been with Dr Goodman for 2 years and have only positive Dr. Goodman is a kind and accessible doctor and gentile. I had a deeply positive experience at Goodman.

I highly recommend Dr. Goodman. It’s rare to find a doctor who truly listens and cares, and he does exactly that — and more! He’s incredibly empathetic and makes you feel heard and understood. Dr. Goodman clearly explains his approach and treatment options, and he’s extremely knowledgeable in his field. Anyone who has the opportunity to work with him is truly fortunate

Dr. Goodman was an excellent doctor, he made me feel at ease right away and helped me learn different tools to cope and deal with problems as they came up in a healthy and productive manner. Really helped me turn my life around and learn how to cope with my feelings properly. I cannot thank Dr. Goodman enough for how he helped me throughout our sessions and highly recommend.
I had an extraordinary experience with Dr. Goodman, From the moment I walked in, I felt a sense of warmth and genuine care. Dr. Goodman is not only highly professional and knowledgeable in his field, but he also brings a deeply human and compassionate approach to his practice. He took the time to truly listen and understand what I was going through, and his guidance has made a significant difference in my journey with anxiety and depression. I felt seen, heard, and supported in a way that I haven’t experienced before with any other provider. Dr. Goodman creates a safe and welcoming environment where healing can begin, and I’m truly grateful for the care I received. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a dedicated and compassionate psychiatrist
I had a deeply positive experience at Goodman Psychiatry. From the moment we met, the doctor made me feel truly seen and heard. They approached our conversation with genuine care and patience, taking the time to understand my concerns and offering thoughtful, reassuring advice. I never felt rushed or dismissed; instead, I felt completely supported throughout the session. The doctor explained my treatment options with kindness and clarity, ensuring I fully understood each one and felt confident in making decisions about my care. I left the appointment feeling both hopeful and reassured, knowing I was in the hands of someone who truly understands and values my well-being.
Dr. Goodman cared for me and my head injury symptoms from a psychiatric medication perspective (and psychotherapeutic perspective a good bit too) for two years. He was wonderful. He was thoughtful, genuinely concerned for my symptomology as well as my overall well-being, and that was exactly what I needed so badly. He ran me through a thorough differential diagnosis process and helped make sure that I finally received the neurological expertise that had eluded me for 6-7 years. He sees the "whole person" aspect of what psychiatry really is about, and works really well with the rest of your care team. See him and he will help you!
It was refreshing to find a psychiatrist who actually cared to listen! He is very attentive and has a holistic approach, which is hard to find. Loved being under your care Doc! Thank you for helping me navigate through my journey!
Dr. Goodman has been one of the best doctors I have ever had in my entire life! Dr. Goodman didn’t just get to provide the best treatment one could ask for (as a patient with bipolar disorder), but he made every visit count. From the moment you would walk in to his office and get greeted with his great positive energy, to the minute you walk out the door with a sense of relief and gratitude! Overall, an easy going doctor who is seriously passionate for what he does, specially when tending to the needs of his patients!
