Getting to know Jake Jones

As a dual-certified Family and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I founded Jones Wellness to deliver personalized, evidence-based mental health care across the states of Michigan and Arizona. My focus is on helping individuals of all ages navigate challenges such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, and other psychiatric conditions—through thoughtful medication management, trauma-informed care, and integrative approaches. I understand that every person’s journey is unique, and I strive to meet you where you are. Whether you’re seeking stability, healing, or clarity, we’ll work together to find a plan that supports your goals. I value transparency, collaboration, and creating a space where you feel seen, respected, and supported. Most visits are conducted via secure telehealth, allowing you to access care from the comfort and privacy of your own home. I offer both medication management and psychotherapy when desired, and I respect those who wish to explore treatment options beyond medication. I bring years of clinical experience to each visit, and my work is grounded in both medical and psychiatric training. This allows me to assess the full picture of your health—mind and body—and craft a care plan that truly fits. Jones Wellness is built to be approachable, modern, and patient-centered. My goal is not only to treat symptoms but to empower you with tools for long-term wellbeing. If you are looking for an empathetic, responsive, and experienced psychiatric provider committed to your mental wellness, I welcome you to book an appointment and take the next step toward feeling better.

What should a new client know about working with you?

New clients can expect a compassionate, nonjudgmental, and collaborative approach to care. I believe the best outcomes happen when we work as a team. Your voice and experiences are central to the treatment process. Whether you're new to mental health services or returning for support, I’ll take the time to understand your story, goals, and concerns before offering recommendations. I approach treatment with both clinical expertise and genuine care. Our first session will focus on building a comprehensive picture of your mental and physical health. From there, we’ll create a personalized plan that may include medication management, psychotherapy, lifestyle support, or a combination that fits your needs and preferences. I value transparency. I'll always explain my thought process and make sure you feel informed and in control of your care. I also respect your pace; there's no pressure, only support. Most visits are done through secure telehealth, giving you flexibility and comfort while maintaining high-quality care. I aim to make our time together meaningful, supportive, and focused on helping you move forward.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process begins with truly getting to know you. During our initial appointment, we’ll take time to explore your current concerns, mental health history, physical health, lifestyle, and goals. I want to understand the full picture so we can build a treatment plan that fits your unique needs. From there, I’ll offer recommendations which may include medication management, psychotherapy, or supportive strategies tailored to your preferences. If medication is part of your plan, we’ll start conservatively and monitor your progress closely, adjusting as needed to ensure the best outcomes with the fewest side effects. Follow-up appointments are typically focused on evaluating how you're feeling, tracking progress, and making any needed changes. I encourage open communication and always welcome your questions or feedback. If you’re also receiving therapy elsewhere or working with other providers, I’m happy to collaborate with your care team to support a well-rounded approach. My goal is to offer care that is responsive, flexible, and centered on your wellbeing, so you feel heard, respected, and supported at every step. Most sessions are conducted via secure telehealth, giving you convenient and confidential access to care throughout Michigan and Arizona.
