James Cottom, DPM, FACFAS, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon specializing in total ankle replacement, traumatology, sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, minimally invasive surgery (MIS), reconstructive surgery, diabetic care, complex deformity correction and regenerative medicine. He earned his doctorate from The Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Illinois, and completed a three-year surgical residency in foot, ankle, and leg trauma and reconstruction at Detroit Medical Center/Wayne State University. Dr. Cottom is renowned in foot and ankle surgery for his extensive orthopedic fellowship training and award-winning research. He completed fellowships at the prestigious Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Center in Columbus, Ohio; with Dr. Sigvard Hansen in Seattle, Washington; and in Kurgan, Russia, focusing on the Ilizarov technique. Dr. Cottom has authored over 75 peer reviewed papers and 10 book chapters on foot and ankle conditions and treatment.

Most relevant

Sadly I will not return. I am a professional . I was not examined , palpated or adequately assessed. The recommendation was diagnostic testing in areas completely asymptomatic and unnecessary. There was absolutely no discussion of any conservative treatment options that might be available to me as a colleague and a professional. I am aware of the intimacy of clinical presentations. This overall patient encounter was poor nonproductive, and I’m sad to say noncontributory to any benefit that I might be able to receive
