About James Dodds
Jim Dodds, PA-C obtained his Bachelor of Science in recreation management and leisure services at Brigham Young University and his Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Saint Louis University. While studying at Saint Louis University, Jim gained valuable clinical experience in emergency medicine, orthopedic surgery, general surgery, women’s health, cardiology, family medicine, and psychology. He specializes in urgent care.
Jim started his professional career in facility management and served in his local fire department and ambulance crew as an EMT for 12 years. His trek to becoming a physician assistant was somewhat unconventional. He chose to go back to school after a successful career as a facility manager at BYU’s Aspen Grove Family Camp and Conference Center. Jim was head medic for camp and also volunteered with the North Fork Fire Department. It was during this time of his life that he cultivated his love for medicine and decided to make it his career. He chose to become a physician assistant because he had a strong desire to serve his community while using the skills he developed as an EMT. He enjoys urgent care because it gives him opportunities to see a variety of patients and provide immediate care.
When he is not serving his patients, Jim enjoys canyoneering and repelling in Southern Utah’s beautiful red rock country. He also loves assisting his children’s coaches in various community sporting activities.

I was seeking an infection disease specialist and Zocdoc had him listed as one, but he is not one. Not his fault, but Zocdocs fault. Regardless he still listened very carefully and respectfully and spent the time with me. He wrote a prescription and I appreciate that. I wish he was closer I would use him as my primary doctor.
