Getting to know James Kennedy

James M. Kennedy is a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and graduate of Boston College. While attending Boston College, he was awarded the Clinical Excellence in Psychiatric Nursing award. After gaining experience in the field, James sought additional training and received his ADHD-CCSP certification, affording him greater insights and training in the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD. James has worked at some of the most renowned hospitals in the world, including McLean Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Massachusetts General Hospital. Over the course of fifteen years, he gained invaluable insights and attained extensive experience in the treatment of a wide variety of psychiatric illness. James' experience also includes a role as an Inpatient Attending Nurse Practitioner at Bournewood Hospital in Chestnut Hill, MA - a teaching hospital affiliated with Boston University. James founded Modern Mentality after seeing a glaring need for innovative, accessible, and compassionate mental health treatment. He is board-certified by the ANCC in Psychiatric and Mental Health NP, allowing treatment across the lifespan and is licensed to prescribe medications, provide medication-assisted treatment and psychotherapy. He primarily sees adults struggling with ADHD, Anxiety and Depressive disorders. James has very limited openings for new intakes and offers flexible schedule including evening and weekend appointments. He is dual-licensed in the states of Massachusetts and New Hampshire as a psychiatric nurse practitioner.
