“I highly recommend Dr. James (Jim) Mattison, a Functional Medicine doctor at Aligned Modern Health. I was very reluctant to start a Functional Medicine treatment plan, as it just seemed like it would be overwhelming. That said, all of my doctors in the "traditional" medical community kept brushing off reported symptoms and only did very basic testing that all came back "normal enough," suggesting this pill or that pill to "see if it helps." Dr. Mattison is the first doctor that I felt not only really listened to me, but did a much deeper dive into my bloodwork (and a stool kit) to validate my symptoms through evidence-based testing and reviewed the data/results with me wholly and completely. I feel not only heard, but am much more comfortable starting a treatment course because I know it is 100% customized to me and my results - and NOT just throwing various pharmaceuticals at the symptoms to see what might work (like throwing spaghetti at a wall to see what sticks). For the first time, I feel like there is someone really on my side that is going to partner with me on my health journey, and not offer cookie-cutter solutions based on taking various pharmaceuticals.”

About Dr. James Mattison
Dr. Jim Mattison graduated from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina with a bachelor of science degree in Health and Exercise Science. He continued his education at Northeast College of Health Sciences where he graduated with honors while receiving his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. After graduating, Dr. Mattison continued his Post-Doctoral Studies at The Functional Medicine university, The Kalish Institute, and The Kharrazian Institute of Functional Medicine where he concentrated his training on functional medicine and integrative nutrition.
Prior to joining Aligned Modern Health as a Functional Medicine provider, Dr. Mattison practiced in New Jersey for 26 years where he owned a chiropractic and functional medicine office which focused on helping patients discover the cause of their underlying health while simultaneously finding sustainable solutions and answers.
