Jana Jamail, CNS

Nutritionist
9020 N Capital of Texas Hwy, Ste 2-280, Austin, TX
I work with adults experiencing chronic, multifactorial health concerns involving the gut, immune system, metabolism, brain, and nervous system. Care is individualized and consultative, integrating nutrition, lifestyle, and targeted clinical tools to support meaningful and sustainable change. This is not protocol-based or gut-only care. While gastrointestinal health is addressed when relevant, recommendations are informed by how the gut, liver, gallbladder, immune system, metabolic function, and nervous system interact, particularly as they relate to mood, cognition, and chronic symptoms. My work is grounded in evidence, guided by neuroscience, and informed by ongoing research. I aim to bridge disciplines that are often kept separate: nutrition, neuroscience, immunology, and metabolism in service of clearer thinking and better outcomes for complex cases. My work sits at the intersection of clinical neuroscience and functional nutrition, shaped by an unconventional path and a persistent curiosity about complex physiology. My clinical and research interests center on the relationship between: -- Brain and nervous system function -- Gastrointestinal and liver health -- Immune and autoimmune processes -- Mitochondrial function and cellular energy -- Environmental and metabolic stressors This integrated lens has shaped both my clinical practice and my academic work. I am a published lead author on research examining mitochondrial dysfunction and GLP-1 physiology, as well as a second publication exploring photobiomodulation (red light therapy) as a multimodal adjunct in anxiety and depression. These projects reflect my broader interest in how energy metabolism, inflammation, and neural signaling intersect in complex mood and neuroimmune conditions. I am currently completing a Master’s degree in Applied Neuroscience at King’s College London and am leading research on neuroimmune disease in the adoptive pediatric population.
