About Dr. Janelle Luk
Ever since I was a little girl, I have wanted to empower and educate women so that they can have full control of their journey to parenthood. Helping families achieve their reproductive dreams is what drew me into this field. Seeing dreams come true and women having full control of their choices is the most fulfilling aspect of my career.
Dr. Janelle Luk is redefining fertility care by challenging the one-size-fits-all approach to IVF and ensuring every patient receives a treatment plan tailored to their unique biology. She earned her Doctor of Medicine and completed her fellowship in Reproductive Medicine and Infertility at Yale University, and she completed her residency at Harvard University. As the Founding Partner and Medical Director of Generation Next Fertility, she envisioned a clinic where patients come before the protocols. Built on the principles of education, empowerment, and empathy, Generation Next Fertility was created to be the most patient-centric fertility clinic in the nation, providing a level of transparency and customization often missing in traditional IVF care.
With a specialization in diminished ovarian reserve (DOR), recurrent pregnancy loss, endometriosis, PCOS, and unexplained infertility, Dr. Luk is known for rethinking conventional IVF protocols to better serve each patient's needs. Long wait times to see the doctor. I felt a bit rushed in the 15 minutes of talking to the doctor, 10 minutes or talking to the consultant, and 10 minutes of doing testing. The whole visit took 2 hours because there was nearly 1.5 hours of added up waiting time in the reception area. The scheduling seemed very backed up, so be prepared to wait.

Dr. Luk was incredible. She made me feel better about my low egg reserve, and we spoke at length about my lab results and what approach we should take to help me have my desired number of children.

Dr. Luk at Generation Next Fertility clinic on 115 East 57th Street is simply the best RE in the world. I've been to 9 other clinics in NYC, Colorado, Los Angeles etc. None of them could help me and they all recommended donor eggs. DR. Luk's unique, low medication approach coupled with the individualized treatment plan got me pregnant in one transfer! She is truly the best doctor I've ever come across in my life. All the other clinics have a 'one size fits all' treatment plan but DR. LUK is driven to find and fix each individual patients needs. She is amazing, super smart and down to Earth. Thank you Dr. Luk!

They're currently having contracting issues with Cigna (July 2017). As a result, items that are normally covered for Cigna patients are not currently being covered by this office and have to be paid out of pocket. After several calls to Cigna, I confirmed they can't be reimbursed because this provider is technically still "in network," and I was told by Cigna this issue could take 4 to 6 months to be sorted out. This office didn't mention these issues until after my appointment with the doctor. We ended up having to find another RE and missed an opportunity for a retrieval as a result. It was a difficult situation to be in and could have been avoided had we known at booking. Other than this issue, the practice is a decent practice with good staff.
