“I've been seeing Dr. Inez for almost a year. After the isolation of Covid and some major changes in my life, I needed to talk to someone and get some help and insight on my own behavior. She's been a terrific sound-board and really helpful in unlocking some buried truth. I strongly recommend her.”

Getting to know Dr. Janine Inez

I offer combined medication management and psychotherapy. The Whole Circle approach is informed by a reverence for the power of narrative and the transpersonal. My holistic training in ketamine-assisted psychotherapy allows me to create a safe space that includes a spiritually intentional set and setting for each journey I facilitate. My background in narrative therapy informs my view of structures of oppression and modern power and helps empower those who consult me to take primary authorship in writing the story of their lives. I hold a Doctorate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and a Master's in Nursing from Columbia University, as well as a Bachelor's degree from the University of Southern California.

What should a new client know about working with you?

**WHEN YOU BOOK AN APPOINTMENT WITH ME, I WILL CALL YOU WITHIN 24 HOURS TO SCHEDULE A 15-MINUTE CONSULTATION. IF I AM UNABLE TO REACH YOU, I MAY HAVE TO CANCEL YOUR APPOINTMENT.** Working with me includes a 15-minute consultation, a comprehensive and holistic psychiatric evaluation, 60-minute psychotherapy and medication sessions, and the opportunity for KAP treatments if appropriate and desired. I tend to work with emergent adults, artists, individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, marital issues, LGBTQIA+ populations.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

As a queer Black woman, I am acutely aware of how stigmatizing and traumatic mental health has been towards oppressed communities of all kinds, and I attempt to undo some of that by stepping away from traditional medical model approaches. This informs my approach when it comes to diagnosis, treatment planning, and medication prescription.
