I love the challenge of finding the causes of diseases, treating them as well as preventing them. I love seeing positive results and improving the quality of people's lives.
In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs?
The role of a primary care provider is to take into account the entire health history, lifestyle, and diet and put it all together for a well-rounded, evidence-based decision on treatment. Many patients have had several providers such as specialists, and it is important to keep up with those visits to have a complete picture of the patients' health and needed treatments.
Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I have been working in healthcare for many decades and am now making time for things I enjoy. I have an Arabian gelding, age 19, and have had him since he was a baby. I want to spend more time with him. I have grandchildren I would like to be more a part of their lives. I love being out in nature and living in a beautiful area of the country.
