Getting to know Dr. Jason Kruk
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with a PhD in Psychology from the City University of New York, Graduate Center. I specialize in individual and couples therapy and bring twenty years of experience working with a wide variety of clinical problems. I am most interested in working with individuals who are curious about themselves and who believe they may find some relief from their struggles by examining their thoughts and feelings in the context of their relational history. I work by listening deeply and reflecting with you on the meanings of the narrative you produce. I am very focused on collaboration and will check in often regarding your experience.
What should a new client know about working with you?
I am integrative and draw on diverse theoretical and technical sources depending on the problems that you bring to treatment. While the bulk of my approach involves helping you to develop greater insight into your situation, I will employ cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness based methods in the hopes of providing more immediate relief when warranted.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
I work to make the therapeutic environment warm, welcoming and free from judgement. Ideally we will create a space together that facilitates a playful and vibrant self exploration free from the encumbrances that so often make that type of experience difficult to attain.
