About Dr. Jason Yu
Dr. Yu is a dual-board certified diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesiology in Anesthesiology and Pain Management. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Vermont, completed an internship in Internal Medicine at Johns Hopkins University, a residency in Anesthesiology at Maimonides Medical Center, and a fellowship in Pain Management at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Saint Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center. He has trained and practiced with premier institutions and private groups and is highly dedicated to his career and patients. His approach is focused yet simple: to collaborate with patients, allowing them to cope and recover from pain syndromes through various treatment options.
Understanding the complexity of acute and chronic pain syndromes, Dr. Yu believes in a multidisciplinary approach involving non-opioid medication management, physical therapy, and minimally invasive interventional, surgical, and ultrasound-guided procedures.
Among the conditions Dr. Yu treats are cancer-related pain syndromes, musculoskeletal conditions, post-operative acute and chronic pain, headaches, opioid addiction, and neurologic disorders.
As Chief Resident and a Foundation for Anesthesia and Education Research (FAER) scholar and grant recipient, Dr. Yu has contributed to numerous abstracts, case presentations, and peer-reviewed journals. He actively teaches medical students, residents, fellows, and mid-level providers.
Dr. Yu participates in national conferences and is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), Medical Society of the State of New York (MSSNY), Chinese American Medical Society (CAMS), and New York Society of Anesthesiologists (NYSSA). He is affiliated with the Northwell Health system.
In his free time, Dr. Yu enjoys playing guitar, fishing, and cooking meals in his Instant Pot.

Dr. Yu is absolutely amazing. I booked a last minute same-day appointment for my mom, and he called me right away to confirm the appointment. You can tell he is very knowledgeable and cares a ton about his patients. He listened carefully to my mom’s issue, performed a thorough exam, presented several treatment options, and gave his recommendation without being pushy. I honestly have never met a more thorough and kind doctor than Dr. Yu. He carefully listens and applies his expertise to provide thoughtful and considered treatment., making sure not to be too aggressive or too timid. He even called me and spoke to me for 20 minutes before my first appointment with him to ensure I wasn’t in too much pain. He is proactive and quick to respond. I’m so grateful I found him after suffering over a year with sciatica. I feel I’m in good hands with Dr. Yu. Thanks Dr. Yu!

I see Dr. Yu for neck pain/ headache. He is professional and answered all my questions patiently. I did not have to wait at all and was taken in at my appointment time. This time he did a trigger point injection on me which really loosened up the tightness I had there. I recommend him.

Very personable. Really takes time to understand all aspects of conditions and listens very well. Genuinely cares about his patients- a rarity amongst doctors and he makes sure you don't feel like a patient that gets a diagnosis based on a yes or no flow chart. This practice over all has made recovery much speedier than expected and Dr.Yu is mentally supportive or top of thinking through the best possible treatments for conditions, which is rare and made for an unexpected, speedier recovery. I HIGHLY recommend him.
