About Dr. Javier Alonso Llamazares
Dr. Javier Alonso, a native of Spain, studied medicine in the University of Salamanca and graduated from Navarra Medical School in 1989. In 1990, he moved to Madrid where he specialized in Dermatology; and for the next 10 years he dedicated his time to expand his dermatology skills, trained and sub-specialized in pathology of the skin at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester (MN). His impressive knowledge and abilities have made him a very well-known dermatologist in the US as well as abroad.
Dr. Alonso has vast experience in cosmetic and laser procedures as well as complex surgical procedures including the Mohs technique, utilized to remove skin cancer in important cosmetically anatomic areas.

The front desk staff were incredibly rude about verifying my insurance. They told me multiple times my annual skin screening was not covered by my insurance company, although I had already called my insurance company and was told that it would be covered. Finally, they spoke with my insurance and realized it was, as I had told them, fully covered. The doctor did an incredibly fast exam, so I'm not confident that he was even checking my skin thoroughly. He looked at my entire body for no more than 2 minutes.

The staff at the front desk was very courteous and I really liked how easy it was to fill out the automated form they gave me, though the wait time was a little longer than I'd anticipated. Dr. Alonso was very professional and personable, asking after my history and taking in my preferences on treatments before making his suggestions on my plan of care. I appreciated that he took my input into consideration and stuck around afterwards to answer my questions.
