About Dr. Javier Gomez
Javier Gomez, DO, is a general surgeon with a primary focus on robotic surgery, minimally invasive procedures, and acute care surgery involving organs of the abdomen and gastrointestinal tract, which include the stomach, small and large intestine, spleen and appendix. Dr. Gomez also specializes in biliary surgery – the gallbladder and bile ducts – and hernia repair, both routine groin hernia and complex abdominal wall construction.
Dr. Gomez earned his medical degree from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine, Stratford, NJ. He completed his internship and surgical residency program at Carepoint Health’s affiliate hospitals, where he was Chief Resident in 2020. He is a member of the American Medical Association, American College of Surgeons and the American Osteopathic Association. He holds certifications in the Da Vinci Robotic System.
