I've seen some bad reviews on Yelp for him, but I didn't have any issues. I found him, professional, courteous, and to the point. Maybe it's because he is very matter of fact in his tone - but he's a doctor not a spa attendant. I didn't have any issues with my consultation with him.

Dr. Jay G. Barnett, who shares the practice with his daughter, Dr. Channing R. Barnett, and is a board-certified dermatologist for over 40 years, has been recognized nationally and internationally as a pioneer in hair transplant surgery and in the use of liquid injectable silicone in the treatment of acne scars, aging lines and grooves and other facial defects. Establishing a private practice in New York City in 1977, Dr. Jay Barnett pioneered many of the innovations in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology that are still in use today and he is considered an expert in all aspects of surgical and cosmetic dermatology. He has published numerous articles in medical journals and books, and has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally for over 40 years. In recognition of these developments, Dr. Jay Barnett received the President’s Award from the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the largest dermatologic surgical organization in the world.

Please do not go here. Dr. Barnett is very rude and does not care about you, he only wants the money. I had a complication after silicone injections, that left me dark spots all over my face. He got very offensive and was very unprofessional, when all I was trying to do is find a solution to my problem. I went there to fix acne scars , and now I have horrible dark spots and I dont know what else to do because I will never go back to see this doctor and give him my money. Please go somewhere else where they will treat you with respect and compassion.

I would never recommend this physician ever.
As an RN since 1973, I have seen many doctors in action.
This one was referred to me by one of his friends.

Dr Jay Barnett was excellent. I highly recommend him. He was informative and patient. The results of the procedure were exactly what he said they would be. I can't say enough good things about him. But... The older lady who was responsible for billing was rude and went out of her way to be difficult. She soured a great visit!

I came to him to correct an acne scar that left a little bump. He shaved off the top, but instead of evening it out, he burned off my skin, so I was left with a dent! When I addressed it, he got so defensive, raised his voice and said he didn't want to deal with it. Now I have to spend more $$$ to correct it. His behavior was so unprofessional, he has no empathy. Do not go to him!

I thought Dr. Barnett was wonderful. He was kind, patient and skilled. You can trust that he will not perform services just for the revenue as he talked me out of getting certain cosmetic procedures telling me I did not need them yet. I am very happy with the results of my silicone injections for acne scars.
As for his front desk employees...they run hot and cold, either being helpful or abrupt as tho they have more important things to do then attend to you. But since I am there for the doctor I can tolerate the front desk.

Wow! Dr. Barnett was thorough, professional and a pleasure to meet. He took the time to explain his diagnosis and all the appropriate steps I needed to take. His patience with me was unbelievable. What a great guy! He was attentive, caring-- and the office staff was super friendly. I highly recommend him and will continue to use him as my dermatologist.
