“My expectations were met for medical opinions provided. Another office where the patients are schedules, not people. At no time was it explained "I am so-and-so, I'll be doing your intake paperwork, the doctor will see you shortly. This is so-and-so, he is training and will be observing for today." Let alone giving a choice if that was okay with me. I thought at first the MA was the DR! I had to interrupt them speaking about me saying, "she's right here" and that got their attention. Should I have to do that? Then they really did listen to why I was there, which was good. They didn't do the bloodwork/draw blood for tick bite/Lyme disease test, which is why I went, and was on my initial online info. I did get antibiotics script. The office was not up to par with what I am accustomed to aesthetically (usually visiting Mt. Sinai in NYC.) Cluttered, messy, dusty, etc. They are in the midst of construction/remodel, but I'm referring to basic neatness, not even a clinical atmosphere. ”

Awful!! Took 4 appointments (8 hours wait time) to get my immigration checks done. Rude/untrained staff.
The doctor was great but the location was not. Will look to see if he has hours at a different clinic.
If you need a Green Card physical, Dr Jay Patel is a friendly, affordable, professional place.

Dr. Patel is great , the 2 hour wait time was not.
Was told I had to come back because I needed to “fast” for my annual physical. Overall, I’m pretty sure this is a good doctor, but I won’t be going back.
Horrible experience. Waited over two hours they skipped over my chart multiple times until I said something and when I did finally get to the back everything was still chaotic. I won’t recommend this office

Facility was filthy. Staff was very unprofessional. Worse experience ever at a doctors office. Staff was Unknowledgeable and rude. No one should ever go to this office

The whole experience was unlike any other I've ever had in a doctor's office. Before you enter the basement office, brace yourself for the total chaos that will follow. You'll find yourself in a standing-room-only waiting room (which desperately needs a facelift or at least a coat of paint on all four walls, not just three), and you may (or may not) be greeted by front-desk staff utterly incapable of multi-tasking and managing such a large number of patients. Although he calls himself a nephrologist, the doctor might be more appropriately called an "immigration exam doctor." It seemed like everyone in the waiting room was there for medical clearance for immigration; you'll see plenty of passports being shuffled about. There was a cacophony of multiple foreign languages being spoken simultaneously. When you get called by the medical assistant, which for me was done relatively quickly, she will take you into the blood-draw room to take your vitals. Be forewarned: this room is not for the queasy or fainthearted; you'll see vials of blood and specimen cups filled with urine right in front of you. And don't be surprised if office staff or even other patients just saunter right in while your vitals are being taken. After your vitals are taken, you'll be shuttled back to the overcrowded waiting room, which by now may (or may not) have an open seat for you. You'll be treated to more foreign-language chatter and front-desk frenetics as you wait to be called again. About 20-25 minutes after my appointment time, the doctor's nurse practitioner called me into the exam room. The room was a cluttered mess, with boxes stacked on a desk in the back. There was an examination table with crumpled cover paper on it, clearly indicating that it was not cleaned after another patient had been in the room prior to me. I sat in a chair in front of another desk, behind which the NP sat and dutifully entered my medical history as I answered her questions. The nurse practitioner was fine and seemed competent, despite some minor hiccups, but nowhere was it mentioned on Zocdoc that I would be seeing an NP instead of the doctor himself. She explained that she would see me first and "because this is your first appointment, the doctor will also see you." Does that mean that I won't see the doctor on follow-up visits? At some point during the NP's taking my medical history, the doctor walked into the room. He was pleasant, introduced himself, looked over the NP's shoulder to read my medical history on the computer screen, and reviewed my paperwork. I asked him a question about a medication that he answered fully and clearly. As he was answering me, a front-desk staff member just waltzed right into the room without even knocking on the door and interrupted the doctor as he was speaking to me. When the interloper left, the doctor gave me instructions to follow up with him -- but, again, who knows if it will really be with him or the NP? I saw the NP for about 15-20 minutes and the doctor for about 10 minutes. To be fair, though, everything that I expected to accomplish at the visit was in fact accomplished. So, if you can look past the poor aesthetics and lack of cleanliness, if you can endure a modest wait (not the 2-hour wait that other reviewers complained about) in an overcrowded waiting room in which you might have to stand, if you don't mind the lack of privacy, if seeing an NP will do the trick, or if you need medical clearance for immigration, this is the place for you. If not, I'd suggest you go elsewhere.
He was very off putting and snippy in his demeanor. I felt he was simply talking at me instead of to me which was very unappreciated. Very abrupt and abrasive. I will not return.

Doctor is good.. the only thing is wait time which can be incredibly longer than anticipated.. but all forgotten once you see the doctor.

His office was also his bedroom/living room. I was in a third world country in his office. I don't know how this place isn't shut down. Patents going in and out of my patient room. I had to tell doctor to kick these people out because there was no privacy. I really don't know how I stayed... Never ever again.
I felt very rushed. Didn't have time to explain, to talk. Was feeling like an assembly-line work. For sure it's fast. I got some prescriptions. That's all you get.
Doctor is very unprofessional, his clinic does not seem like a doctor clinic at all....it was so much mess, it was more like a living room....his attire was also very casual...was so disappointed... Would never recommend to any one

He has assistants and what looks to be more than one doctor in his office. I was in a room full of 5 people. Someone on here complained that it felt less private because there are lots of people around. However this is a good thing as I felt like I was being given attention by the entire office. I had more than one person asking me questions and that was great. I did not think the receptionist was rude unless them laughing and having conversations between each other is bad. I rather this than lifeless robotic depressed receptionist. Everyone did there job just fine and that is all that matters. The wait time was not very long but I rather wait long because it shows that the doctor is giving time to his patients. People who complain about long wait times are stupid. The office had an Indian ethnic vibe about it but looked decent. The doctor/ doctors spoke fluent English. I was worried about that but was glad they spoke good English.

He great his assistant r very helpful

Extremely crowded place for a doctors office. I was going for an immigration related work. Maybe the office is less busy on other days.
Very good

He doesn't listen to you. It seems like he is always in hurry. There is no privacy sort of thing around. You will see other people (non-staff) walking around. It feels like you are at someone's home. I would never go back again.
Excellent

My appointment was for annual checkup. I was called to preponed the appointment as doctor has some emergency visit some where. When I reached office (20 min before rescheduled) appointment doctor was not available at that time. I agree that there could be emergency but what was the point for preponing the schedule? Doctor came after an hour of scheduled timing and he seemed in hurry and the meeting was over in 2 minutes. Office didn't seem a doctor clinic at all.
Care takeing staff and doctors

He didn't want me as a patient even when I offered to pay out of pocket. Office staff never informed me that the doctor did not participate with my insurance. Doctor made zero eye contact and seemed very uncomfortable and rushed even though there were no patients beside me. He is very odd and unhelpful. Office seemed like it operated out of a foreign country. Reception was very nice unlike the doctor.
Very pleasant Dr. will take some time for me to get use to his English but I am sure it was just me...being nervous for first time meeting him.
Verified patient
Staff is extremely rude over the phone. Wait time was long. Doctor knows what he's doing but doesn't spend much time reviewing your records or asking more questions to understand your issue
Treated for issue which i did not have. False assurance for providing supporting kit covered under insurance but was never provided after multiple follow up with the staff. 2 visit but highly unsatisfactory. Personally i wont recommend if you are looking for perfect treatment and gracious followups
Excellent doctor feel like meet the friends

Ok
My family and myself were handled very professionally... Less wait time...all my doubts were explained clearly and patiently... Overall experience was extremely good
Verified patient
Very compassionate Doctor and 'got it' immediately. Although there were 2 others waiting he gave me enough time not to feel pressured but was quick and professional enough in consideration of his other patients. He also skillfully drew my blood, no pain, no mark....Bravo!
The doctor was very patient in listening to the complaints and was very prompt in diagnosis. It was not like writing a million of tests to undergo and diagnose there was no problem....the whole team was very friendly
