She was very thorough, and when I say thorough I mean extremely thorough. She didn’t just check all the boxes, she made new boxes and checked those too. I live kind of far from this provider, however that is not going to deter me from going to see this phenomenal provider, an amazing staff.”

About Dr. Jeanette Cancel
The mission of CAN Community Health is to inspire and contribute to the health and well-being of those affected by HIV, Hepatitis C, and other sexually transmitted diseases by providing the best care through outreach, integrated clinical practice, advocacy, education, and research.
Jeanette Cancel, MD, is a board-certified Infectious Diseases Specialist and HIV Specialist with 30 years of experience in the field. Dr. Cancel earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from Ponce Health Sciences University School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She completed residencies in Internal Medicine at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and the University of South Florida in Tampa. She then pursued a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.
Dr. Cancel has vast experience in the inpatient and outpatient care of patients living with HIV. She is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
