Jeanine Swan, APRN, FMCP

Family Nurse Practitioner
MD
My journey in healthcare began over 30 years ago as a medical student. I completed a residency in obstetrics & gynecology at Temple University. After witnessing the tragedy of 9/11, I became impassioned to serve my country. I joined the US Air Force after completing my residency. While serving in the military, I became very ill. Unfortunately, I went undiagnosed for a year. This changed the trajectory of my life. I was forced to stop practicing medicine while my condition went untreated. During this time, I rediscovered my love for teaching. I spent the next decade as a college professor. While teaching, I pursued a degree as a family nurse practitioner. I worked in critical care throughout the pandemic, and then in the urgent care setting. My experiences as an Ob/Gyn and then a family nurse practitioner, and as a patient myself led me to pursue training as a Functional Medicine practitioner. I saw first-hand how traditional medicine has failed patients. And I recognized the need and value for more individualized patient care. Like many of my patients, my symptoms and health concerns have been minimized or ignored. I have been misdiagnosed or under diagnosed. I have suffered for years with no definitive answers or treatments. I have witnessed family members endure the same issues with traditional medicine. As a healthcare provider, I can advocate for myself and my family. This often makes me wonder what other patients and family members must be experiencing without having a medical background. I established my Functional Medicine practice to fill this need. I provide 1 on 1 health and wellness consultations which focus on personalized patient-centered, holistic care. I am invested in discovering the root cause of your illness or chronic disease while nurturing and guiding your journey to wellness. I honestly care about my patients’ well being. I can help you achieve the health and wellness transformation you are seeking.
