Dr. Jechell Lary-Waller, NP, DNP, PMHNP

Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
AZ
I’m a doctorally-prepared psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP) with over 30 years of experience in mental health—most of it spent working nights and advocating for patients in hospital systems that too often valued convenience over care. Eventually, I was pushed aside too, which only deepened my commitment to create something different. Now, through virtual care in Georgia and Arizona, I offer medication management and supportive therapy for adults and adolescents. I treat anxiety, depression, ADHD (non-stimulant options available), PTSD, mood disorders, and stress-related challenges. My approach is collaborative, practical, and personal. I believe in real-world strategies—tools you can use, medication that makes sense, and a space where you’re actually heard. I consider sleep, energy, and emotional health when designing treatment plans, and provide documentation for work or school when mental health gets in the way. If clinically appropriate, prescriptions can be sent after your first visit. If you’ve ever been dismissed or felt like you didn’t fit someone else’s system, this practice was built with you in mind.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You won’t be rushed, dismissed, or treated like a checklist. With over 30 years in psychiatric nursing, I’ve seen what happens when patients get lost in a system that’s too busy to care. That’s not how I work. When you book with me, you can expect honest, straightforward care. Sessions are focused on what you need — whether that’s a medication review, tools for managing anxiety, or support getting through a hard time. I explain things clearly, keep things practical, and don’t push treatments that don’t fit your life. I see clients virtually in Georgia and Arizona. If appropriate, prescriptions can be sent to your pharmacy after your first appointment. I also provide letters for school, work, or FMLA when mental health symptoms interfere with your daily life. This is a space where you’ll be heard — and where we’ll make decisions together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I offer virtual psychiatric care to adults and adolescents in Georgia and Arizona, with a focus on medication management and supportive conversation. Because I keep a small caseload, I’m able to provide more focused, individualized care — without rushing through checklists or overbooking. New clients typically begin with an initial evaluation where we review your history, symptoms, and goals. If medication is appropriate, we’ll discuss options and a plan that fits your real life. I take a practical, collaborative approach — no pressure, no judgment. Follow-up appointments are used to monitor your progress, adjust treatment if needed, and support you in staying grounded and stable. When needed, I provide documentation for school, work, or FMLA accommodations related to mental health symptoms. Please note: I currently operate on a limited basis, and appointment availability may vary. However, my goal is always to provide care that is intentional, respectful, and focused on what works for you.
