Awesome and very caring Doctor! He’s the best.
Highly skilled as a physician and very personable as well.
Dr. Winston is always concerning, caring and he listens to you instead of pushing you out of the door.
There is a little wait, but he always spends time speaking with you and never rushes you out the door.
He's fast and to business when I need him to be and easy to connect with when I need as well. It's rare to have a doctor you like enough to see even when they don't accept your insurance.
As usual, Dr. Winston is an excellent physician has 3 Cs of of physician, Compassionate, Curious and competent.
I felt fully respected. He was kind, wise, and helpful.
Dr. Winston is a caring and professional doctor! Great staff. I would recommend him highly to others.
I would not see any other MD
very good doctor. I have seen him for years. we manage my health together.
It was okay. I felt okay with the assistant in training, but felt the doctor suggested he knew too much about me too soon, and he kept interrupting me. I didn't feel that listened to by him. But other than that, I did think he was really nice, and the office immediately put me at ease. Everyone in the staff was welcoming, and I like there was a little ambient music, so I didn't have to sit there in my thoughts waiting.
Awesome doctor! Very personable and addressed all of my concerns. The staff were very helpful and professional. It was a good experience all around.
It was great, I have been going to Dr. Winston for over a year. He takes the time to get to know you and he's dedicated to improving your complete health.
Great doctor. Little backed up with appointments.
I have been seeing Dr. Winston for over 2 years. He is professional, does not rush you through an appointment.
willing to listen and work with you to manage your specific needs.
He was very distracted. Because he didn't have a student or assistant, my vitals weren't taken (which should be done with my medication). Ultimately he seemed more interested in letting me know about some bill in state congress than my case.
He is nice and made me feel comfortable.
He's a great doctor. I've been seeing him for over 5 years and he's helped me through some very difficult times.
The wait in Dr. Winston's office was unbearable (more than an hour and a half!). He was nice enough when I finally got in and I think he understood my issues and could have helped me, but the wait time is not something I can work with when it's a doctor I'm going to have to see regularly. The office also couldn't use the additional paperwork that they required I submit online in advance of the appointment, so I had to fill all of it out again when I arrived, which was frustrating.
He's been my physician for years-that speaks for its self
He's a good doctor. My BP was slightly higher because of some anxiety and we addressed the BP as well as the anxiety. My only complaint is that he is out of network for my insurance (BCBS) but the staff was helpful with the paperwork for submitting it myself.
He is very attentive and listens to you. I have been seeing Dr. Winston a long time now and he has helped me tremendously!
He was on spot with my diagnosis with empathetic prescriptive solutions.
The worst thing about this office is the office staff / office management. They rarely answer the telephone (despite Dr. Winston insisting that they do) so you typically receive a voicemail system or the answering service. If you leave a message, it can take up to 2 days for them to call you back. I complained about it and was given an email address but they didn't respond to emails either. Instead, I would email and receive a phone call back within 2 days so it didn't make a difference. After seeing this Dr for about a year, he still didn't know who I was by name nor did he know my medications/dosages. I expect better from a Dr I see every month. The office was lax about confirming ZocDoc appointments (and blamed ZocDoc because they refuse to take accountability for their mistakes...EVER). On 3 different occasions this office was supposed to call in prescriptions to my pharmacy and they didn't. Once, their negligence almost put me in the ER because, despite promising by phone to call in the prescription, they decided to close the office early. I had to page the doctor through his answering service 4 times before he responded (2 hours later) at which time he told me he was at dinner, couldn't write anything down, and would take care of it in the morning. His office staff had said they closed early and she was going to call the prescription the next day. Obviously, this wasn't what she had said to me, they didn't care that the withdrawal from the psych med could result in me going to the hospital, and they were very dismissive of me as a patient. That was the last straw. I immediately sought a new Doctor's office and I'm very happy with my decision. Dr. Winston was fine in the beginning but I quickly realized trusting my mental health care with this office is a risk I'm not willing to take. You should also note that 95% of the time you spend at his office will be with medical students. The doctor himself only comes in at the very end to write a prescription and leave.
Wonderful Dr. Who really cares about his patients!!!
Dr. Winston and his staff are amazing. Now that they have moved thier Marietta office it is even better. Making appointments via zocdoc has been more than convenient and helpful!
I can't complain. Dr's visits are never fun but this office never leaves me feeling an overwhelming sense of dread. I wouldn't say I enjoy going to the dr but my visits are never stressful and always a good value for my time and money. Thank you Dr. Winston and staff.
Dr. Winston is very understanding, very easy to speak with. I have received valuable feedback on my condition and life stresses.
He was caring and very much attentive to my health and was even fun to talk to. Id for sure recommend him to others who struggle with anxiety and ADD disorders.
compassionate, understanding and easily approachable.
Dr Winston is one of my favorite doctors. He is warm, takes the time to get to know patients, and always has valuable advice.
Dr Winston has been my doctor for several years and I do not wish to change. I enjoy the Atlanta office, more time with Dr Winston, beautiful office and comfortable. The young lady in appointment office is very nice as well. Highly recommend Dr. Winston.
I think that he is a great doctor.
Dr. Winston is an excellent physician. He takes the time to listen to me and give great feedback and medical advice given my personal situation.
I was called in within ten minutes of arriving today. Dr Winston is great--he really tries to relate on a personal level which makes me feel comfortable talking to him.
He is the best in town!!!
Dr. Winston is more than an MD, he also takes the time to really get to know the patient. He shares his own experiences to help. He will remain my Dr.
Dr. Winston is very approachable, keeps the conversation going, very casual and low key. He gives great advice, not just prescribing, but giving his personal thoughts on how he would react in your situation and how everything has a solution. He has a calm personality but is very joyful and passionate about his profession. I’ve been seen him for over 2 years now and I can’t see myself going anywhere else.
Dr winston is a great guy!
I love Dr. Winston and I love his staff. But the wait time is ridiculous. I took time off work and got to my 4 o'clock appointment on time and I didn't actually see the doctor until 5:30. There's really no excuse for that.
Dr. Winston is cool, but I am convinced his support staff does not exist. If you're a millennial who values convenience and modern communication standards, go elsewhere. To begin with, you cannot reach the office by phone. Yes, they do list a phone number, but it is not answered. Ever. You're instead expected to leave a voicemail and then wait for them to call you back. Not around your phone when it rings? Too bad - you'll have to start over. I got so frustrated I decided to try the email address listed for rx refills. They saw my email, but then called me (instead of just responding to the email), and the phone tag resumed. This office is stuck in the 1970s. Also, did you misplace your prescription? Well, don't expect any help from them. They require you to file a police report before giving you a replacement prescription. This is even when the original prescription amount was far less than a typical prescription, and the requested replacement amount was even less than that.
I highly respect Dr. Winston's approach in providing medical care. In the years that I've been seeing Dr. Winston, not once did I feel discounted. He's a great teacher, he's very transparent with his own experiences taking the time to really connect with a another human being. I highly recommend Dr Winston and use him as a referral source for those in need.
Dr. Winston is awesome, period. In 2015 I was diagnosed Bipolar I & saw two different psychiatrists over the course of 9 months who: a) took me off the 1 medication I NEEDED to be on to manage moods & put me on a medication that is NOT for Bipolar I (which led to an almost suicide attempt on my part thanks to the side effects) & b) saw me well over 12x but I never improved (in fact, I declined) Dr. Winston is the first only psychiatrist I've seen who has a nurse practitioner filter everything before I go in, he's also the first one to have a 'what's going on' type of form to fill out EVERY visit, and he's the only one who has asked me pointed questions (as opposed to open) to ensure I'm staying on track & we're making the most of our session. I've seen him several times, and only once was he running late due to another patient's emergency, which is understandable on occasion. He's direct, he's kind, he's relatable, and I feel confident he's got my best interests in mind. If you're trying to find a new psychiatrist, this is your guy, trust me.
Dr. Winston is exactly what I am looking for in a psychiatrist. He have the right amount of compassion and empathy and at the same time was very efficient but not rushed. He discussed my medication options with me and the reasons behind them and I was on my way. The office staff was also friendly and efficient and my own wait wasn't terribly long, certainly not the hour or two that other people have said here. Was more like 10 or 15 minutes. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr. Winston to anyone needing a competent, compassionate psychiatrist.
Took the time and addressed my concerns. Would recommend friends and family.
He really seems to care. I feel a good vibe whenever I enter the office for my appointments. For me, it is a safe place; I like having that. I also know, & my wife will agree, that since I've started seeing the doctor, my mental & emotional state is improving. I do see him weekly, which is working for me.
Dr Winston is a very caring an concerned Doctor as he has treated me for years an he is by far the best doctor I've ever had!
Personal, friendly and interested.
The office is Dunwoody is very nice. They just moved here and it was easy to get to and very clean!
Dr. Winston was great. He listened to me and took my concerns seriously. The PA took my history as a new patient and she was wonderful and kind. I highly recommend.
Dr Winston is fine, but when I misplaced my medication and needed a refill no one ever got back to me. I called the office 3 times over the course of a week, and also had my pharmacy calling them, and they never responded. I had to go to another doctor to get my prescription and it took 2 weeks.
My first appointment with Dr Winston went very smoothly. I was the last appointment of the day, and they still got me in within a few minutes of me finishing up my first-visit paperwork. The whole staff was kind and helpful. I had a great conversation with Dr Winston, and he was understanding and personable. I will be visiting Dr Winston again.
Dr Winston has been my physician for years now. I cannot rate him highly enough. His professionalism is as expected yet what matters to me is knowing that I'm being "heard-listened to", Dr. Winston does exactly that. He's easy to speak openly and honestly with regarding any concerns.
He is truly a compassionate and passionate psychiatrist!
Dr. Winston is easy to talk with and listens to your concerns.
Attentive,intelligent and caring
He is just such a compassionate psychiatrist, and also very insightful. I actually was almost 30 mins late, as there was a construction going on in one of the roads.. I was so panicked, but he understood, and said, "It happens sometimes in Atlanta's traffic". Of course, i would not want to abuse his kindness by repeated behavior like that. But it was 4 30, and he still spent 45 mins with me to get good history and updates. He suggests interesting books to read...
Very compassionate person, who can be easily trusted. Very kind, and generous in offering advise. If patient needed more time due to complexity of matter, he does not try to put off till next visit, but actually tries to address it.
Dr. Winston has been working with me for more than 3 years. He has been the ONLY Doctor that has taken time to really listen to me. He has helped me through some really tough things. I highly recommend Dr. Winston. He has saved my life, and continues to. All of my appointments do not show up on ZocDoc, but I see him, 1-2 times a month. Thank you Dr. Winston! !!
He's the best psych doc I've ever had, period.
Very kind professional doctor who takes his patients concerns seriously. Also has a good sense of humor and made me feel at ease. I see a few people complaining about wait time. To those people i suggest consulting ahead with the receptionist about best time to be seem quickly. Also keep in mind if doctors underbook they will have to raise prices or go out of business. Personally i found the wait time completely fair. Jeremy
Next appointment I will be no less than 45min late to get on the same page as this office. Arrive on time and wait 1hr and 30 min is ludicrous and not acceptable. I have a career and can't take a day off for a 30min appointment. Your yelp ads are terrible and say the same thing. Great doc terrible business practice.
I have seen Dr Winston for many years and I still go to him as self pay after my insurance change
My 2nd visit with Dr. Winston and again, I walked out of his office feeling refreshed and very pleased. All of the ladies in the office were polite and friendly. I feel fortunate to have found Dr. Winston, he really connects on a human level.
Dr. Winston is the most wonderful Psychiatrist that I have ever known. His wait time can be ridiculous but when he does see you for your appointment... he makes you feel like you are the only thing that matters. He spends time listening to your needs and is extremely smart with helping chemically balancing your brain back to normal. I was in a bad state of mind when I first met him and he was with me throughout the whole process. I would consider him family now and I highly recommend him.
I've been with Dr. Winston for a long time and I think he's a great balance for my personality.
Dr. Winston is the best. He's the only head doctor I'll see.
Wonderful! Great & caring professional! Hard to find!!
I love Dr Winston!
I have found him very personable and easy to talk to.
I really liked his new Dunwoody office.
Love the new office!
Another 2hr and 45 minute wait! I've been promised that it will change for the better, but that hasn't materialized in over a year. I understand that each patient is important and needs different levels of care, and I'm only going there for prescription refills. Not sure why I continue to go there, but may need to address this!
Dr. Winston has been my psychiatrist for several years. He is a great clinician because he listens and does not treat you at arms length or patronize you as the patient. As a patient, you have to do your share of the work to improve your health and cannot rely on a magical cure or that the doctor will fix everything. That being said, I have stuck it out with Dr. Winston and we have been able to develop a positive, therapeutic doctor-patient relationship. With psychiatric ailments/disorders it is understandable that it takes time and many sessions to be able to understand and analyze all sides of the treatment. If you show you are genuinely interested in getting better and in need of help, Dr. Winston will make sure that you are taken care of and pointed in the right direction.
Very informative. Actually my very first visit was encouraging. Very surprised at how well in the future I will feel.
THE BEST!!! LOVE MY DR. WINSTON!! THE BEST!
Dr. Winston is an excellent doctor and I greatly value his advice. He has a new office in Dunwoody which is in a great location. He is very easy to talk to and really knows what he is doing.
He saw me very quickly and helped me in a short period of time. Always shows concern with my overall health. I appreciate his care over the many years I've been seeing him.
Wait time was not bad this time. Dr Winston continues to listen to my needs and shows that he cares about my overall well being.
I am looking for another doctor due to the unacceptable wait times I continue to experience. It is very disrespectful that they expect patients to wait between 1 1/2 to 2 hours just to be seen.
Never on time. Ever. Be prepared to wait.
I really like him. Great bedside manner!
Dr Winston is an EXCELLENT doctor. He genuinely cares about the health and well being of his clients. More importantly, he seeks to treat your root issues and not just cover them with lots of lifetime medications. He takes the time needed to talk to you, and to allow you to talk with him about things that are contributing to your issues. He does not rush his sessions. That is a positive and a negative because the wait time can get pretty lengthy. You can wait your turn for over an hour or two.
Office much more organized and timely
As usual, my visit with Dr. Winston was a pleasure.I've been seeing him for quite a while now, and he always puts my health and treatment plan at the top of his list. Very caring, and eager to hear how I'm doing and make any adjustments to my treatment plan. A great listener, and responded to my needs. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking his speciality of medical care.
Great doctor and staff!! Dr Winston and his staff genuinely care for their patients and are very easy to talk to. Awesome visit today as always! Thanks for the great care Dr. Winston!
I have been seeing Dr. Winston for several years. I am going to change doctors even though it is a tremendous hassle to do so . You can expect anywhere from 2 to 3 hours wait time past your appointment time every visit. I leave his office every time wanting to choke someone out of sheer frustration and anger at Dr. Winstons lack of professionalism . His bedside manner is atrocious, after waiting for hours to see him just to get my prescription refilled , he comes in and does nothing but talk about himself . He doesn't even remember your name or anything about your condition or the meds that you take . You must check your prescription every time because he always gets it wrong . He also plays favorites, I have sat for three hours in the waiting room and watched as his staff snuck people that had come in after I did into the back room and gave them their prescriptions and got them out of there while I sat and waited. Getting an early morning appointment does not save you from an extended wait time past your appointment time. Even when I have a nine or 10 o'clock morning appointment the wait time is still anywhere from 1 1/2 to 3 hours! I definitely cannot recommend Dr. Winston to anyone for any reason , run, run far, and run fast.
Dr. Winston is great. His office, however, is a Kafkaesque nightmare. They errantly cancel your appointments, and you can expect to leave messages and submit requests through the website for weeks before you ever penetrate the bureaucracy. They also tend to have no misgivings about letting you go cold turkey off your prescriptions while you can't penetrate their office. I don't feel that Dr. Winston is aware of how bad his office is, as he's very pleasant, kind, and personable.
Dr. Winston is an excellent doctor. He seems genuinely concerned about the Well Being and overall health of his clients. However, the wait time and office visits are extremely LONG. I have seen him twice. My first visit I was there over 3 hours, but the 2nd visit was a little better. Second time, I was there for a little over an hour. Most of the time is spent waiting. But again, Dr Winston is a very good doctor.
His words exactly "I don't have the time" says it all, all I was to him was a quick prescription write up and that's it. I arrived 40 minutes early only to leave over 3 hours later.
My primary issue with Dr. Winston is the lack of available appointments within a week's notice, and the difficulty in getting prescriptions refilled, because the hours of operation are so unpredictable. I recently faxed a prescription refill request on a Monday, asking for it to be filled no later than Friday, since I was unable to book an appointment that whole week. I called Friday morning to leave a message (on the Rx refill request line) reminding them to fill it today. I called back at 2:00 in the afternoon on Friday, and they were closed for the day. No Rx refill, no return call or nothing. I am going to run out of my meds this weekend, and the next time I can get in is the week after I run out. I only hope and pray that the office is open next week, so maybe someone will be available to fill it, so I am not forced to go cold turkey. They are particularly awful around any holiday season. It is not uncommon for them to take the whole week off for Thanksgiving or Christmas (even though Dr. Winston is Jewish).
Dr. Winston has been my treating doctor for 10+ years and has always treated me with the utmost professionalism. He is the kindest, most caring and sensitive doctor I know. I cannot imagine not having Dr. Winston in my life. He has helped me through the most difficult times and also laughed with me through good times as well. He is an amazing doctor and I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone seeking help for most any kind of problem needed.
Dr Winston treats his patients like family. Great listener and words of wisdom. Takes as much time as needed to make for a great experience. Thank you!!
Good dr listened understood Negative on the waite
The wait is always ridiculous. Never under an hour. Dr. Winston has no warmth or empathy whatsoever. I keep going here because his self-pay rate is doable, and that's it.
Looooooong wait time, which seems to be standard.
As always, a very productive and pleasurable visit. Dr. Winston can't be beat, and really cares about his patients.
I'm not sure if it is the ZocDoc website itself, or some thing on Dr. Winston's end, but I am unable to schedule any appointments as a returning patient. I visit Dr. Winston so I can stay on my medication while I am working away from home. I have seen him three times and two out of those three times he has had to cancel the appointment. When I called to try and reschedule the first no one answered the phone. It went straight to the answering service and I was never called back. I tried calling at different times of the day on different days to see if I could catch any one but no luck. After not getting through to any one I rescheduled through ZocDoc and was much relieved to see how easy it was. The second visit had was also canceled and I had the reschedule through the website. This time I just went to ZocDoc first to reschedule. The third visit wasn't cancelled this time and went normally (runs late, long waiting times). A few days later the fourth appointment was cancelled. I went to the website to promptly reschedule when I noticed there were no available times. I even decided to check a year ahead and there were no times at all. This coupled with the fact that no one answers the phone at their office has made it impossible to go back to see him.
very easy to talk to and definitely made you feel comfortable
The doctor was very nice and easy to talk to. You could tell he really cared in not only your health but also in getting to know you. The only negative thing I can say is my appointment was at 9:45 and i didnt get out until 11:30 and you could sense everyone's frustration in the waiting room, including a major scene from one individual that stormed out cursing and slamming the door because of the wait.
Dr. Winston is a very nice, caring professional. He is easy to talk to and genuinely care.
Wonderful doctor! He is a busy man, but good at what he does. Caring and wants to make sure you are comfortable. Give yourself an extra 30 minutes of wait time. Bring a book/ipad/iphone/etc. They do have FREE wireless, so if you have some work to do, bring it with you. He is NOT the doctor that will just write you a ton of "scrips." Great education and has a diverse field of psychiatric knowledge. I wouldnt go anywhere else.! High recommended!
Appointments with Dr. Winston ALWAYS take at least an hour if not longer. Most of that time is wating time in the room between the student intern and Dr. Winston. I feel that Dr. Winston is thorough and does take the time to speak with me to make an assessment before he renews my medications. It can be frustrating to know that you have to block out a minimum of 2 hours(not including drive time) for an appointment & difficult with work schedules.
It was my first time visiting a psychiatrist and the entire staff was supportive.
God awful wait times!!!! I have actually spent 5 hours waiting to simply get a prescription renewed. Dr Winston is very pleasant for the 5 minutes that I see him and many I know are extremely happy with him. I have been with him for nearly 5 years and consider changing every time I am there. I hate having to do the new patient paperwork and history review to change doctors, that is what stops me. I just tried to call the office, no answer...not even a machine to tell me they are closed. 12:30 on a Thursday (not a holiday)
The wait time is always TOO LONG
Great doctor!! Always caring and compassionate and willing to take his time to listen to what issues I have going on in my life. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a wonderful empathetic doctor.
Best Doc ever!!
Did not like him at all was no help but I loved Sandy
Wait time was very short. Staff is always very nice and friendly! Dr Winston took his time to listen to issues I have going on and did not make me feel rushed while explaining things to him. He is a great doctor, and he has a wonderful staff working there. Keep up the good work at Dr. Winston's office
Dr. Winston is an excellent doctor with an excellent staff!
I have seen him for years. He listens AND hears what you say. The ONLY thing I get frustrated with is trying to call the office and never get through. Getting the voice message after literally calling over 20 times is exhausting especially when you travel for a living. Other than that. I HIGHLY recommend seeing him. Great Dr. H. Scheel
He has always been a very thorough and kind Doctor. I highly recommend hem!
Even though it's a long wait, Dr. Winston is worth it. He is helpful, courteous, and will make time for patients if they ask.
Each of my last 4 visits(12 month peroid) have taken over 2 hours to be seen!
Live the staff & Dr. Winston. But I've always had a wait time that is unreasonable.
I think Dr. Winston is a great doctor, and I have been seeing him for years. He has been very helpful and professional. My only dislike is that you will be waiting a While to see him- bring a book
thorough, personable, kind
Dr Winston and staff are very responsive and caring to their patients
Dr. Winston is very nice but the wait time was unacceptable. At least he apologized for the delay.
vert intuitive with his professionalism. good listener.
It was great
Very attentive and gave great feedback to issues we discussed.
Thorough, considerate, caring
They answer the phone!! They are friendly! The office is very comfortable and the staff was great.
Felt I was not important
Professional staff. Timely visit. Excellent experience. Highly recommend.
As always, compassionate and caring, and knowing exactly what I need. Great listener, and a true professional I would recommend to anyone.
Great as usual; seen in a reasonable time; ability to fill out forms ahead of time helpful; wish ZocDoc had insurance forms to fill out on line.
Let me start by saying that Dr. Winston is wonderful. However, his office staff leave alot to be desired. I was treated as a new patient instead of one that has been with the practice since 2007. I had to complete all new patient paperwork. They could not locate my chart and they were going to write my prescriptions for refills based on my memory instead of knowing by reviewing my medical history. Two patients were seen prior to me even though their appointment times were after mine. I was put on the schedule for the therapist instead of the doctor. I only continue to go because of my good relationship with Dr. Winston.
Always very good and affable, and willing to listen to what you want. The wait times can be long, but they're well worth it to get the help you're looking for.
Talking with him is always good! But waiting at least an hour if not more every time is not!! I understand people need to talk but good greif that's quit long for a 15-20 visit!!
I love Dr. Winston! He always takes as much time as I need, he's friendly and he asks about my life every time I see him. He's very knowledgeable and seems to keep himself educated on the latest research. I never feel like he's "pushing meds". I've seen dozens of different psychiatrists over the years... Dr. Winston is the best! The wait is usually long, but totally worth it!
Dr Winston's quality of time with a patient is priceless. Very conscious of time, and still have undivided attention.
Always had to wait over an hour to be seen. After 4-5 visits and a year later, I was told my insurance wasn't paying. Why did they wait for a year to bring this to my attention? I was never mailed a bill, which the staff admitted they did not have me set up to be mailed a bill. I was told by his office manager I was ignorant as to how my insurance worked. I called my insurance immediately; there was a coding error & all the claims were paid. Also, it was discovered the billing description on his bill and the billing description on my insurance did not match. The bill from his office said I was being billed for an office visit, prescription/meds, & blood pressure check. But my medical insurance was being billed for an Office visit, 30 min physiotherapy, & technical analysis. He charges you to get a prescription in addition to the office visit. His office visit does not include getting your prescription; it is a separate charge. The technical analysis charge to my insurance company was actually a $5.00 charge to check my blood pressure. Therefore, his office visits does not include a blood pressure check; that is also a separate charge. The 30 min physiotherapy that was being billed to my insurance was actually his fee for prescription/meds. I was not getting receiving counseling/therapy for 30 mins in his office. No, I would not recommend this practice.
I was very impressed! He seems very knowledgeable and extremely caring! You find that anywhere anymore! I am already looking forward to my next visit.
The visit went very well. Dr Winston was helpful as always. I have seen him for several years.
I've been seeing Dr. Winston for many years, which says it all. He is always a caring & compassionate doctor. He spends time to talk through anything we need to discuss and I never feel rushed. It is a pleasure to see someone who truly loves what he does and it shows.
Dr. Winston made me feel comfortable. He's very thorough and understanding.
Great doctor. Listens & doesn't over prescribe. Highly recommended.
Dr. Winston is the best! Been a patient for 2 years. Wouldn't see any other dr unless I had to.
He was great and listened as always!! He made sure I had no new issues before leaving the office! Great and caring doctor even if he does take a little longer to see it is only because he is taking time with all his patients!
Always a pleasure. Really listens and cares. Your health is his main concern. Would highly recommend to anyone seeking professional and personalized care.
I like Dr. Winston. The wait is just too long.
I will not see anyone but Dr. Winston. I have been with him for many years and from time to time saw other Doctors, but no one as good as him.
I have been seeing Dr Winston for a few years now and he is a wonderful doctor and person. He always takes the time to listen to any issues I have going on. He will also provide suggestions on ways to help anxiety, depression, etc. other then just taking your medicine. The office staff has always been friendly, helpful and accommodating. The wait is long at times but I would much rather have to wait a little longer to see a doctor who actually cares about his patients and has a good bed side manner.
The staff doesn't live up to the high standards of the MD. The wait time is very long, upwards of three hours, and the staff do not answer the phones. Rescheduling an appointment is difficult, if not impossible.
I always have a good experience with Dr. Winston and his staff. The office staff has been very helpful when I call and in working with me on the appointments. I did have to wait for Dr. Winston but that is the case with all Doctors so I just plan my time accordingly. When I do get into the room Dr. Winston is very interested in what is going on in my life and having and open discussion about these things and how we are affected by them.
He's very reliable and never had any problems with a scheduled appointment
He is purely a psychiatrist. Don't expect him to give any counseling, therapy, or advice similar to what a psychologist would do. I usually have to wait over an hour to see him, so he must see too many patients because he is always forgetting basic information and details about me; for example, he doesn't know his patients by name, he forgets life altering experiences and even certain diagnoses which is pretty bad. Also, the new receptionists at the Kennesaw location are rude and unprofessional.
Dr. Winston is very personable and easy to talk to.
Kind, professional Dr!
Dr. Winston has a great personality and it easy to interact with.
I waited over 1hr to see Dr. Winston, as I always have to. He spent less than 10min with me. When I told him about a serious problem I was having, he labeled me with my diagnosis and told me to we a therapist. What horrible bed side manner to not say anything encouraging or words of advice.
I have been seeing Dr Winston for a few years and he is a great doctor! Anytime I feel my medications are not helping, he has always taken the time to explore what other options could work. His office staff is all wonderful and always friendly. I trust Dr Winston as my doctor since I feel he truly wants to help his patients!
It depends on what time of the day you go. If you go early, the wait time is minimal to nothing. He gets very busy in the afternoon. Keep that in mind. :)
He is very patient, personable, caring, and understanding. He is good at sharing very practical advice.
I wait over an hour every time I go there for an appointment and the lobby is full of people complaining about the wait. Today I waited over an hour and a half to be seen. I saw him for five minutes and he wrote my prescription for the wrong medication.
I've had four or five appointments here. I first went to Dr. Winston at an extremely rough time in my life - unemployment, relationship problems, depression, you name it. He is the least compassionate "doctor" I've ever met; though he didn't use these words, what he told me amounted to, "Just think positively and you'll be okay." If you've been diagnosed with depression, you know what absolute nonsense that is, and you probably know how I felt - I went to his office hopeful about getting help and relief, and left feeling even worse. His staff is not overtly rude, but pretty dismissive and indifferent. Once I figured out that he would just keep writing the prescription I needed with minimal conversation, I just went, paid for the visit, got my script, and left. After my last visit, however, when I was called by the wrong name twice and they tried to charge me for being "a walk-in" (I had an appointment), I'd had enough. I won't be back.
I WasVery Disappointed. HeTook3 PhoneCallsOnHisCell WhileInWithMe. HeNeverFoundOutMyHistory Before Giving Me Meds ThatI'veAlready Tried.
Good doctor and friendly staff but the wait time to be seen is ridiculous. Typically my experience has been at least 45 minutes to an hour waiting to be seen.
Other than wait time, and not taking my insurance, Dr. Winston is awesome. Recently the wait time has been better than it was when I first started seeing him. He does take his time with his patients, and really listens when you're with him, though.
He is always very good to talk to.
Good visit today. Office seemed to have good flow.
I like having Dr. Winston as a doctor for my daughter. He truly understands her, and she is able to speak with him. He has been a blessing to our family.
This physician is absolutely the best. I keep him on my own referral list for clients or friends that may need his expertise. I highly recommend Dr. Jeffrey Winston
The visit was very good. But zoc doc missheduled my appointment at 9 on Wednesday when the office does not open to 10 on that day. That is okay because Dr Winston is an excellent doctor and is worth the wait.
I have a 45 min . drive to see Dr. Winston but I am So willing to do it just to have him as my doctor. Love his insight and caring attitude. I have been his patient for many years and never want to change doctors, even if I do have to drive a long way to see him. Great Doctor and I have recommended him to all my friends.
Although I saw someone less than 30 minutes (possibly because I was new) I didn't see him until much later after the (intake) Physicians Assistant saw me. Basically leave room in your schedule the day of your appointment, it may go longer than one would expect. He is very personable which is a wonderful change from previous professionals in his filed. Since this is my first visit I will have to wait to see if this is consistent with the other feedback provided.
The Dunwoody location is faster service and easy location of office is right off the interstate. I have been seeing Dr Winston for more a while and enjoy his expert advice and service. The secretary is nice as well, nice clean office area.
He is a great doctor, but it always takes so LONG to be seen. It's difficult to get an appointment when I want to, also. It wouldn't be so bad to not be seen until 4:45 if my appointment was at 4:30, or even 4:00, but when your appointment is at 3:00, and you can't even MAKE an appointment for later, it is very frustrating to wait that long in the office.
Dr. Winston is a wonderful.psychiatrist. He has helped me so much over the years with my A.D.D. He helped me change issues into opportunities. . I would highly recommend him
Only issue was my wait time. It was an hr long wait but otherwise everyone was professional and pleasant as usual.
Other than the long wait, Dr. Winston was a great choice. He was respectful and attentive and seemed to really care about my issues. I'm hoping that the wait was a one-time thing, as I have another appointment in three weeks to evaluate how the new meds are working.
I am very excited about Dr. Winston taking over my treatment.
Dr. Winston is very down to earth and personable. He has a full office staff which is refreshing in this field. Dr. Winston does not seem to be one of those doctors that wants to fix something that is not broken; he seems to be willing to do his own homework rather than depending on what someone else has said or done with you.
Dr Winston is outstanding. He has been my Dr for over 10 years. He is truley one of a kind. His knowledge of ADD has helped me realize m full potential.
Dr. Winston and his staff were very caring and supportive. Today I went for my first visit, which does take some waiting time. However, it is worth it because they take the time to do a lot of background work with you. In other words, they work hard to get your whole story. They all had excellent bedside manner. I'll be going back to them in the future, for sure.
Good Doctor Listened to what we had to say and diagnosed the problem with genuine concern.
Dr. Winston is the best psychiatrist in the area. Hands down!
There's a reason I always come back to him, over the last 12 years. He remembers me, my issues, and is more than accommodating for my small children I have to bring along to my appts. He's polite, trustworthy, and I really feel like he understands the demands of single motherhood and depression/anxiety. Highly recommended.
This was my first visit with Dr. Winston. While the appointment itself was OK, I waited for more than an hour past my scheduled time to see him. My advice is to try to be among the first patients of the day -- that way he will be less likely to run behind.
This was not the first time I have had to wait a long time. It fluctuates from about 45 min to 2 hours. Otherwise, the practice is fine.
His appointments felt rushed after waiting to see him for almost nearly an hour. He felt nice enough, however his treatments didn't seem to work. Also, he didn't make me feel like there was a plan. It was like my issues were just getting a band-aid and that was it.
Dr. Winston and his staff are wonderful. Dr. Winston is an excellant psychiatrist. He has been treating me for years for ADD. I don't know what I would have done without his guidence. His staff is very warm and caring. .
I like Dr. Winston, he has saved me and my job. He says with you until you are doing better and does what it takes to keep you there. I have learned there is a better life out there.
My appointment was for 3:15 p.m. I was ushered into a room around 4:00 p.m. Finally, the doctor came in at 4:55 and I probably had less than 10 mintutes with him because I was walking to my car at 5:08. My time is just as valuable as the doctor's time, particularly since I have to make up the hours I missed at work. Also, I have had several visits with Dr. Winston and each time I have been there my initial conference has been with a PA in training. Finally, and I sure it is for his protection, but he only provides a 90-day supply of medication and requires a "follow-up" visit for the next 90-days. I would be happy I could see him every six months (twice a year) versus every three months.
His waiting room times are the highest of any M.D. in the Atlanta area. One must set aside 4 hours in both drive time, wait time, and seeing the doc time. Not acceptable at all.
I thought he was very insightful. He seemed to have genuine concern and care for why I was there. I hope that the treatment plan suggested will help with the issues that I am dealing with currently.
Every thing was fine except for the 1 hr+ wait. I had to be a work after the appt. so I felt like I was cutting it close. Love his bedside manner!
My visit was good, no waiting and his office staff I always professional.
VERY PRODUCTIVE. HE provided us..top knotch care and he always is very compassionate and treats more like friends than patients.
While Dr. Winston is very helpful, knowledgeable, and a good doctor. I would have a hard time recommending him due to wait times. Each visit I have waited from 30 minutes to over two hours past my scheduled time before meeting with him. For someone with ADHD and anxiety disorders this can be a bit much as I usually cannot even focus on a magazine or game to occupy myself. Also, irrelevant to the service, the waiting room could use a bit of care. Which I take as not demonstrating a commitment to his work.
It was horrible and he expresses no real interest in what you're saying and acts completely unprofessionally. Not to mention the building looks like a hole in the wall and they don't even tell you what the actual room number is because there is no sign for the place. Never going back it's a waste of time and just makes you feel worse.
Very cold and indifferent. Didn't seem to listen or care and wouldn't shake my hand.
The only unusual thing is that he has five or six waiting rooms after the original waiting room and directs patients, five or six at a time, into those rooms. It's a little weird but not bad I guess. I was confused by his manner at first (he comes across a little short), but pretty soon it was fine. He's nice and was interested in what I had to say.
Even with an early morning appt we were there a seriously long time. We actually spoke to the dr for under 15 min (but to a staff person for about 20-30 min before the dr) but we were in the office a total of just over 2 and 1/2 hrs. That is a really long wait for 45 min of actual face time with someone. However, we did feel that the dr cared a lot and the staff was pleasant to deal with. Later the pharmacist told us that their office is notorious for never answering their phone and we found getting a person to answer the phone was indeed extremely difficult.
I have to travel for one hour to see him, but he and his office are worth it.
Yes, expect to wait....but his knowledge is worth the wait!
Great doctor and really listens to his patients.
Well it did take a little wait time but that was because I was 30 minutes early.
Waited 1hr 15 min. for a 7 min visit.
Dr. Winston treats us with respect and is always professional.
Dr. Winston was my first stop and as far as I'm concerned my last stop. I was lucky enough to find exactly what I was looking for in a doctor. I would highly recommend him,
Dr. Winston is a gracious man with a great sense of humor and a truly cares about his patients. He is great at the art and science of Psychiatry.
Improvements Dr Winston has made to the office as a whole is making great progress. Love the new website.
I like Dr. Winston, but just as much I enjoy seeing the NP at the office!!
Great doctor and today the timing was better than normal. Got out in less than an hour.
Very informative about medication and honest about its side effects. I can tell he genuinely cares for my well being and that he is passionate about his job. He even gave me a great suggestion about writing a book about my life, starting with my gratitude and appreciation towards my maternal grandfather who I have never met but owe my life to him. Thank you!
i love dr winston,he had helped me a lot over the years.i have being seeing dr winston, since 1997.he is a good dr.
He was very easy to talk to and gave simple, straight to the point advice. I would recommend him to anyone. My only complaint is that his office was difficult to locate.
Encouraging, concerns addressed, pleasant staff
He is really attentive and concerned about the patients.
He was very patient in listening to me and he was not opinionated at all. He is a very smart and humble person.
It was too fast and he seemed read to go!
Dr. Winston was great and office staff was superb. Glad I found this office.
It was helpful. I have a follow up appt in 3 weeks.
Appointment was good.
I've seen him for years. I trust Him.
very friendly and understanding helped me quickly with my needs and made me feel welcome
Could not have been better. Highly impressed with all staff in the office. Dr. Winston was compasionate and very helpful. He took time and gave me options. I am a medical professional and rarely see this kind of service.
Debbie also is a real professional.
It was very helpful.
Dr Winston and Debbie were very knowledgeable and very professional. They really surprised me at how fast they grasped by problem.
Appointment was great. Very thorough.
