About Jelena Skopinceva

Jelena is a registered dietitian with a Master of Science degree in Nutrition Education and a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics, both from Montclair State University. She also completed a dietetic internship at Illinois State University. What makes her unique in this field is her own personal battle. Her journey began when, at fifteen years old, one of her friends told her she was getting fat. ?This is when the trust in your own body stops, and disordered eating begins,? she says. That one comment marked the start of her learning journey. At that time, she purchased her first diet book and joined her first step-aerobic class. Over the years, she learned that it's not just what we eat, but also why and how we eat. She became a personal trainer, then a registered dietitian, completed a number of marathons, and participated in several Ironman competitions, including finishing the Ironman World Championship in Hawai'i. More recently, she qualified for and participated in the Olympic Distance National Championships, demonstrating that the journey can continue anytime, anywhere, and that age is not a factor. Anyone can do anything they set their mind to. If Jelena could do it, so can anyone?and she would love to help you get there. Everybody should be able to be at peace and trust their own body, enjoying any activity they set their mind to. Jelena is also fluent in Lithuanian and Russian and can provide services in both languages. A license is not required for this provider to see patients. This provider holds a Registered Dietitian certification with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
