Jena Bath, PMHNP-BC, began her professional journey with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice (2001–2008) and a Master of Science in Forensic Psychology (2008–2010), which led her to work for the Virginia Department of Corrections as a Psychology Associate, conducting mental health and risk assessments on adult male offenders. This experience strengthened her skills in clinical assessment, risk evaluation, and working with challenging populations, while also inspiring her interest in direct patient care in psychiatry. She has cared for individuals with a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety, psychosis, substance use disorders, and borderline personality disorder. During her clinical training, she gained experience working with patients across the lifespan, ranging in age from 5 to 103. Her psychotherapy experience has primarily involved implementing cognitive-behavioral strategies to help patients develop effective coping skills and improve overall functioning. Outside of work, Jena enjoys caring for plants, spending time outdoors, decorating, and thrifting.
