“I feel like my doctor was a lifesaver. I couldn’t get in with a therapist near me or get prescribed meds until I had a phone assessment then a visit with therapist then I could see the doctor. So being able to use zocdoc to get something immediately to help me with my depression and terrible anxiety has helped me tremendously. ”

Getting to know Jenna Carter

DISCLAIMER: I do complete evaluations intended for use in court proceedings. I do not prescribe stimulants without in-person assessment, first. I am dedicated to providing high-quality, compassionate care for patients of all ages starting at age 6. My approach centers on understanding each individual’s unique story, symptoms, and overall well-being. While I specialize in skilled medication management, I also believe in an integrative, holistic approach—looking beyond symptoms to address the root causes and supporting your overall health. My goal is to work collaboratively with my patients to promote lasting wellness and a brighter, healthier future.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Our Approach: Holistic, Collaborative, and Evidence-Based Our style is rooted in a holistic and collaborative approach. This means we don't just focus on symptoms; we look at you as a whole person, considering your physical health, life circumstances, stress levels, and emotional well-being. We believe you are the expert on your own life, and we are here as your medical partner. In practical terms, this translates to: Integrated Care: We believe in using a broad spectrum of tools. Depending on your needs, your treatment plan may include medication management as well as recommendations for lifestyle changes and referrals for psychotherapy (talk therapy). We often encourage our patients to work with a therapist alongside our medical management. Evidence-Based Treatment: Your care will always be based on the latest, most reliable scientific evidence in psychiatry. We will clearly explain why we are recommending a specific treatment and what the expected outcomes are. Open Dialogue: We prioritize an open, honest, and non-judgmental atmosphere. We encourage you to ask questions, share your concerns, and actively participate in all treatment decisions.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our primary goal for your first visit is to listen and understand. Comprehensive Assessment: We will spend time getting to know your personal and medical history, your current concerns, and the goals you have for your mental health. Education and Planning: We'll discuss potential diagnoses (if applicable), review treatment options, and collaboratively build a plan that feels right for you. We will ensure you leave the appointment with a clear understanding of the next steps and the reasoning behind them. Active Partnership: We expect you to be an active participant in your care. This includes completing forms, being honest about how medications are affecting you, and following through on agreed-upon steps. We are dedicated to supporting you throughout your mental health journey. We look forward to meeting you and starting this process together!
