Getting to know Dr. Jenna Lombardo

I am a New York State licensed clinical psychologist available to see adults for individual psychotherapy through telehealth. I am deeply committed to my clinical work and consider it a great privilege to be able to join you on your journey to healing. I acquired a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Adler University, with an emphasis in traumatic stress and grief and loss, as part of my formal training. In addition to trauma, grief, and bereavement, I also enjoy working with concerns such as anxiety and major depression, relationships and family concerns, and adjustment to life transitions (including but not limited to parenthood, divorce, the death of a loved one, receiving and coping with difficult medical diagnoses, and living through changes of the body in terms of functioning and appearance). I have worked as a palliative care psychologist and also have experience working with caregivers whose children have died or who were separated from them. I strive to create a warm, open, and inviting space that lays a foundation for our collaborative therapeutic relationship, given my understanding that through relationships we understand ourselves, others, and the world around us. My aim is to help you re-engage in growth and recovery from old relational wounds through healing relationships.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I strive to create a warm, open, and inviting space that lays a foundation for our collaborative therapeutic relationship, given that it is in our relationships that we understand ourselves, others, and the world around us. We can re-engage in growth and recovery from old relational wounds through healing relationships. I hope our relationship can be an essential vehicle for change, with you in the driver’s seat and beside me. Getting professional psychological help is a significant decision for many, as it requires the not-so-easy practice of openness. Sharing what you may have never shared with another before, or perhaps you have done so and felt hurt and disappointment— is a risk for many. I see your faith and trust in me to show up for you as sacred. I plan to show up for you to help you see that there is hope for healing within our relationship and beyond.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My work is grounded in humanistic psychology and uses a relational constructivism framework. I also have extensive training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and cognitive processing therapy (CPT). As my client, I want you to know that you are in the company of a professional who employs interventions informed by your needs as you express them to me and the latest research in psychology and mental health. I look forward to working with you!

Ongoing session: $200-350 for 50 minutes
  • Sliding scale: Offers lower out-of-pocket fees on an individual basis, typically based on your ability to pay
  • Files your insurance claim: You pay the session fee upfront and the provider files the claim for you, so you can get reimbursed directly without worrying about the paperwork
  • Charges post-reimbursement amount: This provider will only charge you for the amount you pay after you get reimbursed from your insurance plan, so you don’t need to pay the session fee upfront

More information on payments and coverage

Bryant West Psychology works with most insurance plans (whether in-network or out-of-network) to make the financials easy, hassle-free, and paper-work-free for you. We can bill your insurance for you, and you can pay us any deductible and co-pays by credit card or through Zelle, as well as the old-fashioned ways, such as check or cash. In-Network: Our clinicians are providers in the following networks: Aetna and its affiliated insurances (Allied Benefit Systems - Aetna, Christian Brothers Services - Aetna, Health Scope - Aetna, Meritain, Nippon, Trustmark ) and student health insurance at NYU, Columbia, New School, Fordham, FIT, and Pratt. In-network, your insurance company sets our fees, co-pays, and deductibles, making our service more affordable. We will discuss this with you. Out-of-Network: We bill all insurance companies, such as United Health Care, Oxford, Cigna, Blue Cross/Shield, and Beacon (to name a few). Depending on your plan, your insurance may pay up to 80% of our fee (and sometimes more). We will do our best to work with you to make payment arrangements that won't break the bank—that is, your bank.

Dr. Lombardo is a very good listener and communicator, her bedside manner is fantastic, and she offered invaluable insights even at the first appointment.
I am always very hesitant in giving therapy another chance. Dr. Lombardo immediately made me feel comfortable upon our first session. I didn’t feel generalized and I felt like she was really trying to understand me without assuming. The way she spoke to me and asked questions made me feel like I had control. I felt less resentment after speaking with Dr. Lombardo compared to how I’ve felt in the past.
