Adult Psychiatric & Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
9315 W Sunset Rd, Ste 101, Las Vegas, NV
Hi, I'm Jen, a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner offering both in-person appointments in Henderson and Las Vegas, as well as telehealth services across Nevada. I came to psychiatry after more than a decade of nursing in high-acuity and cardiac care. That clinical foundation taught me to see the whole person, think critically under pressure, and never treat someone like a number on a chart. Those values shape every appointment I have today. I recently completed my Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on integrated behavioral health and trauma-informed care. I work with individuals across the lifespan, supporting mood disorders, anxiety, trauma and stress-related conditions, ADHD, and complex cases where mental and physical health intersect. Las Vegas and Henderson are communities I care about deeply. Whether you come see me in person or connect virtually from anywhere in Nevada, you'll get the same quality of care, the same level of attention, and the same commitment to getting it right for you. What you'll notice from our very first appointment is that I listen. Medication management is one tool, and I use it thoughtfully, but it always happens alongside honest conversation and a care plan built around your actual life, not a generic template. I believe psychiatric care should feel like a partnership. You know your experience better than anyone. My job is to bring the clinical knowledge that helps you move forward with clarity and confidence. If you've been putting off getting help, or if past experiences left you feeling dismissed or unheard, I'd love the chance to show you what it feels like when someone is genuinely paying attention. I'm currently accepting new patients in person and via telehealth. I'd be honored to support you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

The first thing I want you to know is that coming in for the first time takes courage, and I don't take that lightly. Whether you're walking into our Henderson or Las Vegas office or logging on from anywhere in Nevada, I want you to feel like you made the right call the moment we start talking. Our first appointment is really about you telling me your story. I'm not rushing to a diagnosis or reaching for a prescription pad. I want to understand what's been going on, how long it's been happening, what you've already tried, and what your day-to-day life actually looks like. The more I understand you as a person, the better I can help. I work with mood disorders, anxiety, trauma, ADHD, and complex presentations where mental and physical health overlap. My background in cardiac and high-acuity nursing means I'm comfortable with complexity and I know how to connect the dots between what's happening in your body and what's happening in your mind. If medication is part of your care plan, we talk about it together. I explain the options, the reasoning, what to expect, and what to watch for. You always have a say. Shared decision-making isn't a phrase I use lightly, it's how every appointment runs. You won't feel rushed here. I built my approach around therapeutic communication and whole-person care because I've seen what happens when patients feel dismissed, and I refuse to be that provider. I see patients in person in Henderson and Las Vegas, and via telehealth across Nevada. New patients are welcome, and I'm glad you're considering taking this step. Reaching out is often the hardest part, and you've already done it.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Every client relationship starts the same way: with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. This first appointment runs longer than a typical session because I want a full picture. We talk about your current symptoms, your mental health history, your medical background, your sleep, your relationships, your stress levels, and anything else that feels relevant to where you are right now. Nothing is off the table. From there, I develop an individualized treatment plan. For some clients that means medication management combined with supportive therapy during our appointments. For others it means working alongside a therapist in a collaborative care model where I handle the psychiatric side and they handle the deeper therapeutic work. I'm always open to coordinating with other providers because good psychiatric care rarely happens in a silo. Follow-up appointments are focused and intentional. We check in on how you're responding to any treatment plan changes, talk through what's working and what isn't, and adjust as needed. I don't believe in a set-it-and-forget-it approach to psychiatric care. Your needs will evolve, and your care plan should too. I practice with a strong emphasis on therapeutic communication, which means our appointments feel more like a real conversation than a clinical checklist. I ask questions, I listen carefully, and I explain my thinking so you always understand why I'm recommending what I'm recommending. I see patients in person at our Henderson and Las Vegas locations, and via telehealth throughout Nevada. No matter how we meet, the process stays the same: thorough, collaborative, and centered completely on you.
