You’re doing everything you’re supposed to do… working, showing up, handling responsibilities, but internally, something feels off. Maybe you’re constantly overwhelmed, mentally drained, anxious, or just not feeling like yourself anymore. I specialize in helping high-functioning adults who are used to pushing through, even when they’re struggling. Many of my clients are professionals, caregivers, or individuals navigating demanding lives who want to feel more balanced, focused, and in control. My approach is warm, nonjudgmental, and collaborative. I provide medication management along with supportive guidance to help you better understand what you’re experiencing and how to move forward. Together, we’ll work to reduce symptoms, improve clarity, and help you feel more like yourself again, without losing who you are in the process. If you’re ready to prioritize your mental health and start feeling better, I’d love to work with you.

Getting to know Jennifer Demosthene

If you’re ready to prioritize your mental health and start feeling better, I’d love to work with you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is warm, nonjudgmental, and collaborative. I understand that seeking psychiatric care can feel vulnerable, especially if you are used to handling everything on your own. My goal is to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable asking questions. I believe treatment decisions should be made together. I will explain my recommendations clearly, discuss the potential benefits and risks of medication, and consider your concerns, preferences, and goals before moving forward. You will not be pressured into a treatment plan that does not feel right for you. I also recognize that medication is only one part of mental wellness. When appropriate, I may encourage therapy, lifestyle changes, or collaboration with other healthcare providers to support your overall well-being. My goal is to help you better understand what you are experiencing and feel more informed, supported, and confident in your care.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Your first appointment will include a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation. We’ll discuss your current concerns, symptoms, medical and mental health history, medications, daily functioning, and treatment goals. I’ll take time to understand what you’ve been experiencing and how it is affecting your life. After the evaluation, we’ll review my clinical impressions and discuss treatment recommendations together. If medication may be helpful, I’ll explain the available options, expected benefits, possible side effects, and answer your questions before we decide how to move forward. Follow-up appointments focus on monitoring your progress, reviewing how you’re responding to treatment, addressing side effects or concerns, and making adjustments when needed. My goal is to provide thoughtful, collaborative care that helps you feel informed, supported, and actively involved in your treatment. When appropriate and with your permission, I can also coordinate care with your therapist, primary care provider, or other members of your healthcare team.
