Ms. Jennifer Dotseth is a distinguished nurse practitioner who provides comprehensive and compassionate care to individuals facing mental health challenges at her own practice. With a strong foundation in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment, she offers tailored care that addresses each patient's unique needs. Ms. Dotseth strives to promote recovery, resilience, and holistic well-being through therapeutic interventions, medication management, and supportive counseling. She earned her master's degree in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Walden University. Committed to ongoing learning and advocacy, Ms. Dotseth is dedicated to supporting people on their journey toward mental wellness.
What should a new client know about working with you?
Hi! I'm licensed as a psychiatric nurse practitioner in both Minnesota and North Dakota. I'm currently only available for online sessions and my availability changes week by week so book with me and we can go from there!
I enjoy helping individuals with a variety of mental health concerns, including treatment resistant mental health disorders. If you feel that you've tried everything, come see me and we can discuss this further!
I have a special interest in treatment resistant and perinatal mental health disorders, as well as using pharmacogenomics (the study of how your genes interact with prescription medications) to form an individualized treatment plan.
I am accepting the following new patients: children ages 6+, teens, adults & older adults.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
I strive to form an honest and transparent relationship with my clients. I believe that the provider-client relationship is a partnership; there is no one size fits all treatment plan. You are in the driver's seat and I am here to help guide and support you on your journey to better mental health; whether this involves treatment with medications, supplements for a more natural approach, a combination of the two, or a creative option which we come up with together.
My hope is that you will come away from a session confident that your concerns were heard and that you have more answers than questions.
I don't push prescription medications on my clients. I see them as another tool to help manage your mental health; they can be very helpful for many people but they're not the only treatment option.

Jennifer is amazing. I've seen umpteen Psys and Jennifer, realizes that the patient does their homework when seeing them for medication management. She said I was in the driver's seat and within reason she lets me decide which medications work best for me, from experience. I would take her advice absolutely if she feels there is a new ADHD stimulant medication that would work better perhaps or yada yada yada. I freaking love her. She is pleasant to keep eye contact with I feel she hears what I'm saying like in the moment, rather than judging me for not throwing a party at appointments. She is young and real and confident and doesn't need drama infused appointments to get through her day. Jennifer isn't looking to be entertained by me. She is truly available to assist me with medication management. Yes, I know Jennifer is really the driver but you know, that really works, being her passenger! If we were in England maybe or on bikes with two seats lol. Jennifer rocks!

Jennifer Dotseth is an Absolute Amazing Doctor/Provider! Words cannot describe how grateful I am for meeting Dr. Jennifer. I can’t believe how simple it was to set up my appointment with Zocdoc and to accomplish what this awesome human being helped me with. I take a lot of medication’s and am a serious headache to doctors. Especially the 1st meeting. Jennifer handled this like a true true pro. Listened AMAZINGLY, gave me great advice, helped with my complex set of medication’s, and NEVER once made me feel rushed or that she was annoyed of me talking.
