Getting to know Jennifer Huskinson
Jennifer is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a Master’s degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Walden University. She began her extensive nursing career after earning her Associate’s degree from Middle Georgia State University and her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado. In 2018, she transitioned into psychiatry upon discovering her passion for helping individuals with mental health concerns and substance abuse. Jennifer has diagnosed, treated, and managed all major psychiatric disorders and various mental illnesses and addictions. She prefers an integrative approach that includes not only medication management but also non-pharmacological methods such as nutrition, complementary alternative modalities, and therapy. She holds additional training and certifications in Nutrition and Integrative Medicine for Mental Health, Alzheimer’s Disease and other Dementias, as well as treatment of individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders. Jennifer has experience treating a diverse patient population, ranging from adolescents to geriatric patients. She focuses on the patient as a whole, incorporating active listening and individualized care. Her goal is to help patients work toward a healthy and positive future.
