Getting to know Jennifer McLane

I am a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in the treatment of anxiety disorders, depression, mood disorders, and stress- and trauma-related concerns in adolescents and adults. My approach focuses on comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, thoughtful medication management, and collaborative care. I prioritize safety, functional improvement, and long-term stability rather than quick medication-only solutions. I work best with patients seeking ongoing mental health care, support, and guidance as part of a structured treatment plan. My goal is to create a respectful, judgment-free space where patients feel heard and actively involved in their care.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and actively involved in their care. My style is warm, collaborative, and thoughtful. I take time to understand the full picture, including symptoms, stressors, relationships, medical factors, and life circumstances, rather than focusing only on medication. When appropriate, I incorporate both medication management and therapeutic support to help clients build insight, coping skills, and lasting improvement. My goal is to help clients feel more stable, empowered, and better able to function in daily life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Treatment typically begins with a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation where we review current concerns, symptoms, history, goals, and any relevant medical or psychosocial factors. From there, we develop an individualized treatment plan that may include medication management, supportive therapy, psychoeducation, and practical coping strategies. Follow-up visits are used to monitor progress, assess response to treatment, make thoughtful adjustments when needed, and ensure care remains aligned with the client’s goals. I value collaboration and aim to make treatment feel clear, personalized, and manageable.
