About Jennifer Recker
Jen is a board-certified full practice Family Nurse Practitioner and former ICU, acute care nurse.
She has been a nurse since 2013 and a nurse practitioner since 2018. Jen has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, a master’s degree in nursing from DePaul University, and a post-masters degree in family practice from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. She has worked in many diverse settings as a nurse practitioner including Functional Medicine, Primary Care, Family Medicine, Community Health, Urgent Care, Mental Health, and Home Health.
Jen’s training and experience has taken her as far as South America to very rural and impoverished areas of the US to major metropolitan areas motivating her drive to provide access to high quality healthcare.
She has a special interest in integrative health and functional medicine. Her areas of focus are on gut health, adrenal function, thyroid health, mental health, cardiovascular protection, managing insulin resistance, chronic viral conditions, and reducing toxic burden.
Jen has completed all of her functional medicine coursework through the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM), to better treat her patients while fixing the root causes of their conditions. She is in the final stages of completing her certificate in Functional Medicine through IFM. With her consultation services, she will offer evidence-based options in optimizing your physical and mental health, while offering an overall sense of well-being and balance.

Booking an in-home appt with The Natural Np was super convenient! It saved me from using my PTO or sick time just to see a medical professional. NP Jennifer showed up early, was really friendly, and answered all my questions clearly. She even followed up later with the recommendations I asked for. I am super happy with her service and plan to stick with her for my health journey.
