About Jennifer Smart

Jennifer is a Registered Dietitian with a Master's Degree in Clinical Nutrition. She holds specialty certification in Renal Nutrition and specializes in this patient population. In addition to working with patients with kidney disease Jennifer enjoys working with patients with cardiac issues in addition to individuals just looking to incorporate healthier eating habits.
Jennifer believes that the foundation for health begins with good nutrition. There is a lot of outdated and inaccurate nutrition information on the internet. Information related to the renal diet should be specific to the patient. Individuals with kidney disease need to know what to eat to help maintain and preserve their kidney function. Jennifer feels that food is an important part of our culture so it’s important to her to help her clients continue to enjoy food no matter what their stage of kidney disease.
Jennifer is skilled at digging deep to get to the root of nutritional issues. In your first session she will take time to learn about what you've tried in the past, what has worked, and what hasn't. She will learn about your current eating habits and nutrition beliefs and work with you to develop a plan for moving forward on the road to wellness.
