About Jennifer Tangeman

Hello! My name is Jennifer Tangeman, FNP-C, and I'm a Family Nurse Practitioner with more than a decade of experience in psychiatry. Before earning my Master of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I spent much of my nursing career as a registered nurse specializing in psychiatry and neuroscience. Those experiences reinforced my belief that effective mental health care begins with listening, understanding, and meeting people where they are. Throughout my career, I've worked with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, PTSD, and other mental health concerns. Earlier in my nursing career, I also worked as a travel nurse, an experience that strengthened my adaptability, resilience, and ability to remain calm in challenging situations. Looking back, one of the greatest privileges of my career has been hearing thousands of people's stories and learning from the unique experiences each person brings. I believe my role is to serve as a bridge between my patients and the care they need. My goal is to understand not only what someone is experiencing, but also how those experiences have shaped them, so we can build a treatment plan together that feels practical, personalized, and meaningful. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing tennis, being outdoors in the sunshine, baking, and listening to good music. Those moments help keep me grounded and remind me of the importance of balance and connection.
