When was the last time you feel like you were in control of your emotions, and you are not constantly thinking of the struggles you are dealing with? Do you wish you have the right tools to be in charge again? Hi, my name is Jerrold, and I can help. Know that you have it within you to be healthy and have a normal life again, and you just need the support to get there. I can help you regain control and reach your highest potential. I help my clients find confidence and fulfillment by equipping them with the tools they need to better understand themselves and regain some of that control they lost. Many of today's solutions for stress-related problems and daily struggles are drawn out and impersonal, leading so many to feel like they are not making real progress. I know that your circumstances are unique to you, so every step is individually tailored with your end goal in mind. First, we examine the relational dynamics and other factors (medical, physical, and/or psychological) that are causing you to feel overwhelmed. Then, we work on identifying and learning different communication skills and behavioral changes that will be most effective for you. Through our work together, you will learn the life and social skills and build the confidence you need to thrive in your relationships and achieve your best. My training and expertise in clinical psychology, neuropsychology and health psychology, gives me unique insight to better understand your challenges on a much deeper level. I know that sometimes you just want to quit because there is no end in sight and it feels overwhelming. When we work together, you won't just get a trained therapist, you will get someone who truly understands what you are going through. Education Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology, University of Denver Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology, University of Denver Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, National University of Singapore

What should a new client know about working with you?

I dedicate my practice to helping you identify that issue, and together we can figure out how to process your feelings towards the problem and develop solutions. My aim is to help you find a method unique and helpful to you. Our experiences, health and cultural upbringing influence our judgment and how we approach different issues. I utilize a combination of different techniques through an integrative approach, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Psychodynamic Therapy. As a rehabilitation neuropsychologist, I pay close attention to how medical issues, difficulties in daily functioning, cultural issues and relationship aspects not often discussed can be significantly impacting your life. These are all important factors that can help you regain the control in your life. Let's work through it together.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During the first session of psychotherapy, it will mostly consist of us getting to know each other, and establishing goals of therapy through the completion of a treatment plan. We will also establish the duration of therapy (if appropriate). From the second session onwards, depending on your preference and the goals we set, we will utilize different techniques to assist you with identifying the issue, exploring underlying problems/root causes, and discuss your thoughts and feelings that may lead to behaviors reinforcing actions. We will then work on how to minimize or disrupt those behaviors, with emphasis on how to maximize your quality of life. Then we will discover ways to maintain those new behaviors and how to apply them to other areas of life.
