Getting to know Jessica Amigo

Hello, I’m Jessica, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC). I offer compassionate, evidence-based mental health care for adults in English and Spanish. I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma-related symptoms, mood concerns, difficulty managing emotions, and life transitions. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and personalized. I want you to feel heard, understood, and comfortable discussing what matters most to you. Together, we’ll explore your concerns and develop a treatment plan that reflects your needs, preferences, and goals. I provide medication management alongside therapeutic support when appropriate, drawing on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and education about mental health. My focus is on helping you understand your symptoms and build practical coping skills while providing culturally responsive care. During our first appointment, we’ll discuss your symptoms, history, daily life, and hopes for treatment. We’ll review treatment options together and identify next steps, which may include medication, therapy strategies, and tools to support your well-being. Seeking care can feel overwhelming. You don’t need to have everything figured out before your first visit—I look forward to meeting you and supporting you along the way.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is warm, collaborative, and straightforward. I want you to feel heard, respected, and comfortable discussing what you’re experiencing. As a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, I provide care that considers your emotional health, physical well-being, relationships, and daily life. I combine evidence-based medication management with psychotherapy when appropriate, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and trauma-informed approaches. Together, we’ll explore patterns that may be keeping you stuck and develop practical tools to manage symptoms and navigate challenges. I explain treatment options clearly and welcome questions so you can make informed decisions about your care. Treatment is personalized to your needs, preferences, and goals. I offer care in English and Spanish.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first appointment focuses on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to care. We’ll discuss your current symptoms, medical and mental health history, previous treatments, daily routines, and goals. Together, we’ll develop a treatment plan that may include medication, psychotherapy, lifestyle changes, or additional evaluation. Follow-up visits begin with a check-in about how you’ve been feeling and functioning. If you’re taking medication, we’ll review its benefits, any side effects, and whether adjustments are needed. During psychotherapy, we’ll explore current concerns, identify unhelpful thought or behavior patterns, and practice skills you can use between sessions. You can expect a supportive conversation with a clear focus on your goals. We’ll regularly review your progress and adjust the plan as your needs change.
