Getting to know Jessica Augustyniak

I treat a wide range of conditions, including anxiety, depression, panic disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, mood disorders, insomnia, and ADHD. My approach combines comprehensive medication management with supportive psychotherapy when appropriate, always emphasizing collaboration and open communication. As a strong patient advocate, I believe that with the right support, guidance, and evidence-based interventions, every individual can achieve meaningful mental well-being. I am a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of experience in healthcare, specializing in mental health for the past several years. I hold a Master’s in Nursing from Capella University and completed specialized training in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing at Wilkes University. Throughout my career, I have focused on providing patient-centered, individualized care that addresses the unique needs of each person. I am currently accepting new patients ages 18 and older and am committed to helping each patient feel heard, supported, and empowered on their path to better mental health.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I take a conservative and thoughtful approach to prescribing psychiatric medications. I carefully consider the most appropriate medication for symptom management, its efficacy, and potential side effects. I am always willing to listen to your concerns, and we will work together to determine the treatment plan that makes you feel comfortable and supported. I firmly believe that mental well-being is achievable with the right approach and individualized care.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The initial appointment will last approximately 40 minutes to 1 hour. During this visit, we will review your medical and psychiatric history, discuss the symptoms you are experiencing, and assess how these symptoms are affecting your daily life. Together, we will determine an appropriate diagnosis and discuss all potential treatment options, including whether medication, therapy, or a combination of approaches is most appropriate for you. If medication is recommended, we will start the treatment at a conservative and safe dose, taking into account efficacy, potential side effects, and your personal preferences. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled in 1–2 weeks to assess your response to the medication, monitor for side effects, and make any necessary adjustments to ensure your safety and comfort. Once your response to treatment is stable, follow-up visits will typically be scheduled monthly, or more frequently as needed, to continue monitoring progress, adjusting treatment if necessary, and providing ongoing support. My goal is to work collaboratively with you to achieve the best possible outcomes for your mental health while prioritizing your safety and comfort throughout the process.
