What makes you passionate about being a healthcare provider?
From the time I was a little girl, I always knew I wanted to be in the healthcare field. There is nothing more rewarding than being the person to help someone in their most vulnerable times.
In your opinion, what should be the role of a primary care provider for a patient, taking into account both physical health and behavioral health needs?
The Nurse Practitioner serves as a holistic caregiver. We attend to the patient's physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. It is imperative to optimize all of these components of health in order to create the best outcomes for our patients.
Tell us a little bit about yourself. What do you like to do in your spare time?
I have been a Family Nurse Practitioner for 9 years, including 6 years in the Active Duty U.S. Army. I earned my Master’s in Nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina and my Bachelor’s degree from Lander University. I am the mother of two amazing little girls who keep me busy. In my spare time, I enjoy hunting, fishing, and exploring nature with my boyfriend, Joe.
