About Dr. Jessica Chan

Dr. Chan is a native Chicagoan who earned a B.S. in biochemistry at University of Illinois at Chicago. She continued her higher education at National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL, where she earned a doctorate degree.
Dr. Chan opened Equilibrium Health + Wellness in November 2012, in the South Loop neighborhood of Chicago, with the intention to not only promote holistic health care, but also to raise awareness of the importance and the simplicity to lead a healthier lifestyle. She is passionate about helping her patients through their entire recovery process and loves building a close relationship with each and every patient.
She has attended several seminars with the Motion Palpation Institute, nutrition, and Webster technique, and is also a Certified Power Taping Practitioner of Rocktape. She is full body certified in Active Release Technique. Dr. Chan continually enriches her knowledge of holistic care to stay familiar with the latest techniques and modalities to ensure the best treatment for her patients. She believes in treating the body wholly by integrating nutrition, appropriate supplements, and chiropractic care to ensure holistic health.

I had a wonderful experience at Equilibrium with Dr. Chan and acupuncturist Edwin. Dr. Chan took a great deal of time to get to know my history -physical and emotional - and discussed with me a great plan of action to address my concerns in a holistic way. I’ve been on medications for years, for some of everything, and I felt like Dr. Chan listened to me and heard my struggles. To make sure that I received the best treatment overall, Dr. Chan recommended staring with acupuncture to give me faster relief rather than just adjusting me. Edwin, the acupuncturist, was great. He was a focused listener, asked great questions to get a full picture of what I had been struggling with, and developed a plan of action to treat not only my neck, shoulder, and back pain, but my digestion, kidney, and gout flare ups naturally using acupuncture. And the cupping relieved my back and neck pain tremendously. I came in the office in knots, limping and uncomfortable, and left feeling so much better.
