Getting to know Jessica Faltinowski

Jessica is a seasoned psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner with over 25 years of invaluable healthcare experience and enjoys helping individuals ages 6+ on their journey to improved mental well-being. She earned her Post-Master's Certificate in Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Wilkes University. Jessica specializes in a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, addiction, depression, borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and ADHD. She uses both therapy and medication to provide personalized mental health care. Her approach blends proven therapy methods with careful medication use to address the various factors contributing to mental health conditions. By combining therapy to target emotional patterns with medication to relieve symptoms, her goal is to support overall well-being and help clients reach their treatment goals.

What should a new client know about working with you?

As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I focus on fine-tuning psychiatric medications to help you find the most effective approach with the fewest side effects. My practice is a good fit for those considering psychiatric medication for the very first time as well as those who have worked through earlier treatments without finding the relief they had hoped for. My clinical background spans major depressive disorder, generalized anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and treatment-resistant presentations—including situations where several previous approaches have not delivered results. Your first appointment centers on a careful, in-depth look at your full mental health history. Together we will walk through your earlier medication trials—what worked, what did not, and your own read on the reasons—alongside your current symptoms and their impact on your life, any relevant medical conditions, other medications you take, and the outcomes you are aiming for. This level of detail lets me identify your personal patterns of response and shape each recommendation to fit. Creating a warm, nonjudgmental setting where you can speak openly about your experiences and worries is a genuine priority for me. My medication management style is measured and methodical. I choose medications based on the research evidence and your individual profile, use careful dosing strategies, and keep a close eye on both how well a medication works and how well you tolerate it—adjusting promptly whenever the clinical picture warrants. Steady follow-up visits help keep your treatment on course, and I stay reachable between sessions for any questions that come up. I also collaborate with your other providers when it strengthens your overall care. Clients regularly highlight my analytical thoroughness, close attention to detail, and persistence in finding the right solution as what truly distinguishes this practice.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My process rests on three core principles: thorough assessment, genuine patient education, and ongoing collaboration. I believe effective medication management takes both clinical expertise and a strong, trusting relationship between us. Your first appointment lasts about an hour and covers a lot of ground. I'll ask about your current symptoms, when they began, and how they're affecting different parts of your life—your work, relationships, self-care routines, and overall daily functioning. We'll explore your psychiatric history in detail, including previous diagnoses and treatments. I'll also review your medical history, current medications, substance use patterns, and family mental health background. Once I've gathered this full picture, I'll share my diagnostic impressions in clear, accessible language. If medication seems clinically appropriate, we'll have an in-depth conversation about your options—how different medications work in your body and brain, the benefits you might realistically expect, possible side effects to watch for, and how long improvement usually takes to become noticeable. Follow-up appointments, generally 20 to 30 minutes and scheduled monthly once you've stabilized, happen regularly so we can monitor your response to medication. We'll look closely at what's working well, troubleshoot any challenges, and adjust treatment as clinically needed. Finding the right medication often involves some thoughtful trial and refinement. Between visits, you can message me through our secure patient portal with any questions or concerns that arise. I also work collaboratively with therapists and other mental health providers to deliver integrated care when it suits your situation. In my experience, coordinated care across providers consistently leads to stronger, more lasting outcomes. Throughout it all, my aim is for you to feel like an informed, respected partner in every decision we make together.

Jessica is very personable, attentive and caring. She listened to my concerns with zero judgement and offered multiple paths for my treatment while weighing the pros and cons of each choice. She is going to work with me on CBT for ADHD next and I'm very excited to continue treatment.
