I am opening a telehealth office based in Amarillo, Beacon Psychiatry and Wellness. I began my nursing career as an Associate RN at Austin State Hospital (ASH). I felt a strong calling for serving in the Mental Health field. While working at ASH I returned to school to earn a BSN through UT Arlington online, followed by a MSN through UT San Antonio Health and Science Center in person, ultimately becoming a board certified PMHNP. I specialize in the treatment and management of depression/mood and anxiety disorders, bipolar, OCD, thought disorders, and ADHD. For the past 4 years I have worked with Greater Austin Psychiatry and Wellness, a private outpatient practice in Austin, TX. I am also a current member of TX Nurse Practitioners and Panhandle Nurse Practitioners associations. I was raised in Amarillo, moving away after high school graduation. 30 years later I am thrilled to return home to the High Plains. My goal is to make mental health care more accessible for the general public.  Beacon’s mission is to be a light of hope for Texas and Kansas residents, ages 16 and up, who may feel lost in the chaos of mental illness. Beacon aims to promote calm by providing accessible, compassionate mental health care with treatments that are custom-made for each unique individual. Beacon offers psychiatric care including assessment, education, treatment options, and appropriate referrals. We specialize in medication management for depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, schizophrenia, and more.
