Jessica Kimmel, MD, is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated magna cum laude. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from New York University School of Medicine, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Kimmel completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, during which she was awarded the James R. Webster Jr. Award for superior clinical and humanitarian skills. She then completed her fellowship in gastroenterology at New York University.
Dr. Kimmel practices general gastroenterology, with a focus on colon cancer screening, reflux disease, celiac disease, and liver disease, with a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease. She is an attending physician at NYU Langone Hospital – Brooklyn, where she works with medical students, residents, and fellows. Her research has been presented at several national conferences and published in peer-reviewed journals on topics such as inflammatory bowel disease, motility, and medical student education.
