About Jessica Rodriguez
Jessica Rodriguez is a board certified Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner who specializes in medical, cosmetic and surgical dermatology. Jessica obtained two undergraduate degrees both in economics and nursing, receiving multiple scholarships and graduating with honors. Jessica began her career as an RN in the hospital setting where she worked primarily with post-surgical cardiothoracic, vascular and intensive care unit patients. During this time, she also managed a medical aesthetics practice where she developed her interest in dermatology.
Upon earning her master's degree from Florida Atlantic University, she embraced the idea of transitioning from the acute care setting and earned her national board certification as a dermatology nurse practitioner. Under the mentorship of board certified dermatologists Adam Plotkin, MD and Matt Uhde, DO she gained experience in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer and precancerous lesions, various chronic and acute skin disorders, superficial radiation therapy, excisions, and was involved in various clinical trials for the development of new dermatological medications.
Jessica also enjoys helping her patients achieve their aesthetic goals through the use of cosmetic injectables (Botox, Dysport, Xeomin & Fillers), skin resurfacing, and preventative anti-aging modalities. She believes cosmetic dermatology is both a science and an art and enjoys incorporating facial balancing techniques to give her patients their best outcomes.
In addition to Jessica’s clinical experience, she serves on the editorial advisory board for the Journal of the Dermatology Nurses’ Association which is a valued resource to the dermatological field. She is a volunteer member of the American Red Cross disaster response team and enjoys staying well versed in the latest developments in dermatology by regularly attending conferences.
