Hi, I’m Jessica Schafer, a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with a deep commitment to helping individuals feel seen, supported, and empowered in their mental health journey. I provide thoughtful, evidence-based care for adolescents and adults navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, and life transitions.
With years of experience in outpatient psychiatry, I combine medication management with a compassionate, collaborative approach. My goal is always to meet you where you are, create a safe space to explore what’s going on beneath the surface, and help you find sustainable strategies for feeling better — not just temporarily, but long-term.
Patients often describe me as relatable and easy to talk to. I believe humor and authenticity have a place in healing, and I do my best to show up as a real person in the room with you. Whether you’re brand new to psychiatric care or looking to reestablish treatment, you’re welcome here.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
My approach is collaborative, supportive and tailored to your unique needs. During our first session, we'll take time to explore your history, current challenges, and goals. I'll listen closely to understand what's working and what is not than formulate a plan that best fits your life/ goals.

I felt VERY discouraged and upset by my appointment with Jessica. For context, I have had an ADHD diagnosis since 2020 from a licensed psychologist alongside therapy with the same therapist since 2019.
I told her I mainly struggle at home with routines. I am lucky to have a low-stress job so my ADHD does not affect me there. She told me that since I don't struggle at work, it cannot be ADHD and said that it was more likely my "bad habits" that led me to struggle.
She told me that my diagnosis is subjective, and that "it isn't a blood test" so she would make her own decision on whether I had it or not. Again, I sat for multiple hours of actual testing and have a multi-page report of my results that she did not ask to see - I had to bring it up.
Overall, I felt dismissed and honestly offended. I wasn't going to write a review but my therapist upon hearing this info looked at me like I was crazy and told me to never see this provider again. Posting to help others steer clear.
